Join Enabling Units IT, a dynamic team of around 400 professionals across 7 major European locations, delivering ground-breaking digital and technology solutions across crucial business functions including HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and Global Business Services. As a Director, EU IT - Business Partner, Compliance, you will be at the heart of our Core Functions team, partnering with Compliance and other key collaborators to shape and deliver technology strategies that drive our business objectives. You will play a pivotal role in developing strategic IT solutions, from initial roadmap planning to implementation and ongoing operational excellence.

THE ROLE:

As the Director, EU IT - Business Partner, Compliance, you will be instrumental in forging strategic relationships with senior compliance partners, gaining a deep understanding of their short and long-term business goals. You will be accountable for the Technology Strategy and roadmap for the Compliance function, incorporating external technology trends, AI, and innovative solutions. Your expertise will drive the delivery of competitive advantage through technology, combining your internal AstraZeneca knowledge with your IT savvy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Cultivate strong, strategic relationships with complex customer groups and senior Compliance leaders.
  • Lead the development and business engagement for the Compliance Technology Strategy and roadmap, integrating AI and innovative technologies.
  • Assess and prioritize technology requirements in alignment with overall IT strategy.
  • Develop and manage a customer account plan, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective delivery.
  • Manage a portfolio of IT investments, aligned with emerging business strategies and priorities.
  • Lead high-level investigations and feasibility studies for technology solutions, aligning with business and IT strategy.
  • Conduct business impact assessments and develop business readiness plans for new IT initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and champion innovative IT solutions to create competitive advantage for the Compliance function.
  • Present and secure commitment for IT initiatives from partners, bringing to bear specialist knowledge to promote new IT services.
  • Collaborate effectively with IT leadership, architecture, portfolio, and project management teams, as well as Business Analysts and Solution Delivery leads to ensure seamless project initiation and delivery.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Deep domain knowledge of the Compliance function and the technology landscape relevant to it.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing innovative technology solutions within a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering results and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Experience in building compelling arguments and mobilizing high-value IT investments.
  • Extensive experience leading teams with a motivated and dedicated approach.
  • Experience in managing third-party technology suppliers and strong networking and consulting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, influencing, and networking abilities.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence key partners at all levels.
  • Proficiency in planning, change management, and strategic problem-solving.
  • Ability to understand and respond effectively to business needs within an IT environment.
  • Experience in managing negotiations and expectations across diverse and complex groups.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience and knowledge of the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
  • Involvement in pharmaceutical thought leadership networks and organizations.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working in global and matrixed organizations.
