Team Overview
Enabling Units IT is a vital part of AstraZeneca, delivering digital and technology solutions across key business areas such as HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and Global Business Services. Our EU IT team, with around 400 professionals across 7 locations, is at the forefront of enabling AstraZeneca's mission through innovative technology.
The Core Functions team within Enabling Units IT collaborates with key collaborators in HR, GBS, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Affairs. We provide comprehensive technology services, from strategic roadmap planning to implementation and ongoing operational excellence. As a Business Analyst in this team, you will play a crucial role in understanding business needs and translating them into effective technology solutions.
Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to join our Core Functions team in Lisbon. You will work closely with key business partners to define the vision, scope, and detailed requirements for technology projects and initiatives. You will be part of a dynamic and expert team of IT professionals, collaborating to identify business challenges and deliver innovative solutions using industry-leading tools and standard processes.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with key business partners to understand their needs and challenges within HR, GBS, Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Affairs functions.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring clarity, traceability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Define and document functional and non-functional requirements, translating them into clear and concise specifications.
- Contribute to the development of cases, outlining business justification, return on investment, and benefits realization.
- Support the design of user-centric solutions, considering user interface, user experience, and business process design.
- Work closely with IT Business Partners, Architects, Development, and Testing teams to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and successful solution delivery.
- Participate in solution evaluation, assessing business readiness and improving value delivery.
- Support communication plans and engage with collaborators to facilitate organizational transitions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field or formal certification in Business Analysis.
- Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst, successfully deploying various business analysis techniques to enable business change.
- Experience working with complex integrated systems and delivering innovative solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Solid business insight with the ability to understand and articulate business needs.
- Proficiency in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
- Experience with business process mapping and improvement.
- Experience in virtual collaboration within global teams.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Lean or Six Sigma training.
- Practical experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience working in a global organization, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of HR business processes or other Core Function domains.
- Experience with User-Centred Design principles.
- Experience working in a regulated environment.
