The Business Area
The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team in AstraZeneca IT is accountable for all Infrastructure, Security, IT Operations and all End User Services and technologies. This group will ensure that our IT Services are seamless and secure, and that technology is delivered in an efficient, effective, and agile way, with a strong focus on experience. It's a dynamic and challenging environment to work in - but that's why we like it.
The Service Design and Transition Team within ETS is responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the seamless introduction and ongoing delivery of IT services, aligning them with business needs and Service Level Agreements. This team manages the transition of services into the live service environment while minimizing disruption and continuously improving existing services.
What you’ll do
The IT Service Design and Transition Intern will:
- Work closely with SD&T team members across the globe to understand our process and purpose, gaining exposure to IT projects across all AZ Business Units
- You will also interact with IT project Managers, Business Analysts, Service Managers and architects gaining insight into how IT works in AstraZeneca
- Understand and Support key service processes, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge
- Data Analysis Activity : Compile data from relevant stakeholders, systems, and platforms to develop insights on team performance and opportunities for improvement, using ServiceNow and PowerBI tools.
- Continue to develop the SD&T Playbook, an interactive reference tool developed in MS PowerApps
- Knowledge & Repository Management: Organize and catalogue best practices, templates, and resources. Ensure content is up-to-date and easily accessible to team members. Support in creating and updating process documentation and training materials for the Service Design and Transition team.
- Participate in continuous Improvement activities for the SD&T team, providing your own inputs based on your experience working in the team.
Essential for the role

- Experience with basic IT reporting tools, Excel, PowerBI
Desirable for the role
- Basic Knowledge of IT Service Management & IT Project Management
- Competent with Excel and PowerBI reporting
- Experience of Service Now or other IT Service Management tools
