Educational Video Development Internship

AstraZeneca are looking to appoint a student in the Packing Operations of the Macclesfield Campus for a 10-12 week summer intern placement. Ideally you will be in year 2 (or higher) in an Undergraduate IT/Digital, Media or HR discipline. You should be passionate about Learning & Development and use of digital media to support our teams learning journey, to help us achieve our 2025 Must Wins.

The role will involve working with various teams within our manufacturing facility, creating videos for training purposes. The role holder would be responsible for filming, editing, and producing short video clips designed to support equipment and process learning using a combination of screen recordings, presentations, and on-camera demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept development:

Collaborate with trainers and subject matter experts to identify training needs, brainstorm video concepts, and develop scripts that align with learning objectives.

  • Storyboarding:

Create visual outlines for each video, including key scenes, graphics, and transitions to ensure a logical flow.

  • Filming and recording:

Capture screen recordings for software demonstrations.

Record on-camera presentations or demonstrations by trainers or subject matter experts.

Utilize appropriate lighting and sound quality for professional results.

  • Video editing:

Assemble footage using video editing software (like Adobe Premiere Pro).

Add graphics, animations, text overlays, and transitions to enhance clarity and engagement.

Incorporate music or sound effects as needed.

  • Quality control:

Review edited videos for accuracy, consistency, and professional presentation.

  • Distribution:

Upload completed training videos to the company's learning management system (LMS) or designated platform (Matterport).

Skills and Experience

  • Basic video editing skills:

Proficiency in video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or similar tools.

  • Storytelling ability:

Understanding how to structure information in a clear and engaging narrative.

  • Technical knowledge:

Familiarity with screen recording software, basic audio recording techniques, and camera operation.

  • Communication skills:

Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to accurately capture information and translate it into video format.

  • Attention to detail:

Ensuring accuracy of information and maintaining a professional aesthetic in the final product.
