Safety, Health, and Environment Summer Intern

We are seeking undergraduate juniors majoring Environment Sciences, Environment Engineering, Water or Energy Conservation, Earth Sciences, or other sciences for a 10-Week Student Intern role in Frederick, MD for a June 2nd - August 8th contract period.

Position Duties:

  • Interact with Site Safety Committee and lead a monthly initiatives such as employee safety, ergonomics, and/or waste management based on candidate interest and experience
  • Understand the role and services provided by a company clinic and other wellness services
  • Assist with the implementation of an environmental impacting project for energy, water and or waste reduction or recovery/re-cycling

Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate juniors majoring Environment Sciences, Environment Engineering, Water or Energy Conservation, Earth Sciences, or other sciences
  • **Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in MS excel or database applications
  • Able to work collaboratively and with cross-functional teams
  • Must be comfortable wearing Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE – hard hats, steel toe shoes, safety glasses and vests) as project work dictates
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as OSHA, EPA, etc. are a plus
  • US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
  • Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa (e.g., CPT, H1-B, F-1 (OPT), TN, or other non-immigrant status). This role will not be providing CPT/OPT support.
  • Ability to report onsite to Frederick, MD 5 days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance, and will prioritize local candidates.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
