If so, this Lab Manager/Scientist role is for you. Based in Cambridge, you will be part of a team that pioneers the next wave of science, focusing on outcomes and shaping the patient ecosystem. This is an opportunity to dig deep into the biology of sophisticated diseases and uncover breakthroughs. This role will require you to be on site for 5 days per week.
Accountabilities:
Perform ordering activities as required to support lab activities across purification labs
Perform functional deliverables to support instruments maintenance, Instrument repair. including working with OEM engineers and AZ instrument management systems to make sure that instruments are serviced on time; instrument down time are kept to the minimum.
Assisting CAPEX rep and team members in overseeing all stages of CAPEX process and ensure successful installation and onboarding.
Represent PPS in monthly company meetings and engage with other lab managers to ensure PPS team is updated with company lab compliance and provides update to the team
Actively work with 5S team within PPS to seek for continual improvement in the lab by; leading continual improvement programs, working with the team to ensure the maintenance of the highest laboratory standards.
Ensure all work is performed in line with appropriate SHE standards and support resolution of SHE actions to maintain high safety standards in laboratory environment
Supporting GLS compliance activities as required and acting as system owner for systems as required
Dealing with all emergency breakdown of lab equipment including fridges/freezers. This would including the transfer of critical temperature standards/samples to appropriate alternative storage.
Working closely with lab service to fulfill any ad hoc requests from scientists on the day.
Managing all in-coming chemicals/reagents. This would include keeping track of their expiries and disposing of any expired chemicals/reagents through appropriate channels.
Coordinate team deliverables to ensure smooth sample shipment between sites and to external sites.
Other lab duties and improvement projects as required to ensure the smooth operation of Purification Laboratories
Crucial Skills/Experience:
Graduate or experienced non-graduate
Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Familiarity with CAPEX work flow and order system (such as Coupa)
General knowledge about biopharmaceutical development
