About the programme
We are an offering an apprenticeship to be part of the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) function at the Speke Biologics manufacturing site in Liverpool. You will be supporting the delivery of SHE across a number of areas including manufacturing, laboratories, Supply chain and Engineering functions.
As part of the wider SHE team you will assist the aligned SHE specialists and other staff members providing support for SHE projects, SHE IT systems, Sustainability and our environmental management system.
On a daily basis the SHE Technician will assist to develop, review and check on the implementation of safe systems of work to manage risks onsite, deliver training, investigate incidents, analyse data and present findings to the management team. The SHE Technician will engage with all aspects of the organisation to support a culture that ensures everyone is able to return to their family and friends unharmed every day whilst also proactively managing our environmental impact across all activities.
This will be achieved by inspiring and influencing others to see the benefit of working responsibly, understanding the legal framework and showing how safety, health and environmental management can enhance operational activities.
How does the programme work?
On this 2-year apprenticeship, you’ll have a unique opportunity to learn and work in a global company alongside science’s brightest minds and Safety Health and Environment industry experts.
You’ll be studying for a Level 3 Safety and Health Environment Technician qualification. We’ll fund your course, and 20% of your time will be spent on your studies.
As well as gaining valuable work experience, you’ll have the opportunity to work towards a professional qualification, depending on your chosen department.
There are also plenty of opportunities for future growth and experience beyond your Level 3. Many of our apprentices go on to enjoy full time positions both in their apprenticeship department and other business areas.
