Oncology in the Nordic-Baltic Region

Change the lives of cancer patients

Change the lives of cancer patients

“At AstraZeneca, we’re committed to advancing the science of oncology to deliver life-changing medicines to patients most in need. We have a bold ambition to one day help eliminate cancer as a cause of death; an ambition that’s backed up by one of the most promising Oncology pipelines in the industry. A couple of years back we said we’d launch six new compounds in Oncology by 2020 – and we’re well on the way to achieving this.

“We have a clear aim to become the leading Oncology company in the Nordic-Baltic region. So we’re looking for more talented people across all areas of expertise. Keen to join us on our journey and make a real difference to patients? Wherever your skills lie, we’ll give you all the support you need to pursue a worthwhile career in an organization that follows the science, makes innovation the norm and embraces a collaborative team spirit.”

Jens Lindberg, Business Unit Head of Oncology – Nordic and Baltic Region

New frontiers in Oncology treatment

The AstraZeneca Oncology team in Nordic-Baltic region has more than doubled in the past three years. This growth has been sparked by the launch of the first PARP-inhibitor in ovarian cancer, as well as the first 3rd generation EGFR-TKI in lung cancer.

But we’re not stopping there. In the next few years, we are preparing to launch multiple new compounds and indications across lung, ovarian and breast cancer. We’ll also be making our first entry into the field of hematological malignancies.

Specifically in the Nordic-Baltic region, we’re developing strategy and priorities across tumor types through our country brand teams, and planning and implementing activities and initiatives in countries based on local insights. We also have a strong focus on personalised medicine as most of our current and future compounds are accompanied by a biomarker strategy – a field in which we’ve become pioneers.

The momentum is growing and we plan to double our organisation again by 2021. Exciting times lie ahead – come and be part of them.

Who we look for

We work together to achieve our goals. So you’ll need to be able to collaborate with colleagues across functions – often working with people you might not expect to come into contact with. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge and learn from talented people around you.

Shaping the future of Oncology also means new ways of thinking and working. So we’ll expect you to be entrepreneurial, bold in what you do, willing to take smart risks and relentless in the pursuit of excellence. There are opportunities out there – do you have the flair for innovation to seize them?
