IT Infrastructure & Platform Engineer (RPA Platform Support)
Purpose of the Role
The Platform Engineer will be responsible for the stability, scalability, and support of the RPA IT Platform infrastructure. While experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus, the primary focus is on strong infrastructure knowledge, systems administration, and platform reliability. RPA-specific training will be provided if required.
About the Role
The RPA Platform supports IT and business operations across functions such as HR, Finance, and IT. As a member of the RPA Infrastructure team, you will ensure the availability, security, and performance of the virtualized environments, servers, and connected services that enable automation delivery across the enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage virtual infrastructure using VMWare vSphere Client.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016 and MS-SQL 2016.
- Maintain system uptime and performance of RPA platform components (Control Room, clients, and associated services).
- Support patching, backup, and restore processes as part of regular maintenance cycles.
- Monitor infrastructure proactively (virtual machines, networks, storage) and act on alerts.
- Ensure secure access control aligned with GxP, SOX, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with RPA development teams to forecast and provision infrastructure as needed.
- Drive infrastructure upgrades in alignment with platform vendor roadmaps.
- Handle incidents, service requests, and problems according to ITIL practices and defined SLAs.
- Contribute to license optimization and platform utilization improvements.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge in VMWare, virtualization, and Windows Server administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and cloud/hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a regulated or audited environment.
- Understanding of system integration, server hardening, and access control management.
Nice to Have (Desirable, Not Required)
- Exposure to RPA tools such as Automation Anywhere, UiPath, or Blue Prism (training will be provided).
- Knowledge of Linux or Unix systems.
- Certifications such as VMware, AWS, Automation Anywhere, ITIL Foundation.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Candidate Profile
- 4–7 years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Comfortable working in multinational teams and collaborating across global time zones.
- Adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple technical priorities.
