Associate Director, S/4HANA Data Transformation – Finance (Americas)

We are looking for anAssociate Directorto join AstraZeneca’s Data & Analytics team, supporting our global ERP transformation program. This role is accountable for driving finance data quality, cleansing, and readiness of legacy ERP data to enable successful S/4HANA deployments across theAmericas.

You will focus on preparing finance data for migration by leading data profiling, cleansing, mapping, and localization activities. Working closely with Finance stakeholders, the GBS Data Office, and technology teams, you will ensure that consistent, governed, and high-quality finance data is delivered to support accurate, compliant, and timely ERP migrations.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Cleanse Execution: Drive and deliver all data cleanse activities across assigned Finance object workstreams (Master and Transactional) to meet migration quality requirements.
  • Scope & Methodology: Identify and document the cleanse scope, delivery plan, and methodology; establish robust project documentation and governance.
  • Data Quality Management: Perform comprehensive data quality analysis; define requirements, controls, and monitoring; and track progress against targets.
  • Prioritization & Reporting: Lead the prioritization of data delivery across the workstream and provide transparent status reporting, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate with local leads, project resources, data services, and global data offices. Manage the key relationships between cleanse teams and S/4HANA project/business teams.
  • Stage Gate Management: Track data readiness through defined stage gates, ensuring a controlled handover of migration-ready data.

Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • SAP Proficiency: Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP transactions and reporting, with a deep understanding of data integration across SAP architectures (Finance and Controlling focus).
  • Finance Data Domain: Strong knowledge of master and transactional data across Finance (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Asset, Cost Centers, AP & AR open items).
  • Data Cleansing & Migration: Deep expertise in data profiling, analysis, reconciliation, and validation. Proven experience leading complex SAP data cleansing initiatives.
  • Transformation Leadership: Experience leading complex data quality/migration initiatives within large-scale transformation programs.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data issues into clear solutions and influence stakeholders to achieve target outcomes.
  • Project Delivery: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a track record of prioritizing effectively to deliver goals.

Desirable Requirements

  • Tooling: Proficiency in data migration planning and reporting, specifically withSyniti Advanced Data Migration (ADM).
  • Industry Experience: Experience in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industries.
  • Training & Enablement: Experience training business users on SAP transactions and process automation.
