About the role

As a Key Account Manager Oncology, you will be responsible for the strategic management of important individual accounts and will play a key role in optimizing our Oncology portfolio’s performance. You will identify new business opportunities, build strong relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, and develop tailored business development concepts to achieve ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent AstraZeneca standards and values in all external interactions

  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities within the managed portfolio

  • Develop and implement account strategies and business concepts aligned with account needs, including defining objectives, milestones, and measures

  • Prepare and execute account plans, ensuring all activities comply with internal and external codes and regulations

  • Identify, build, and further develop network structures (physicians, patients, diagnostics, etc.)

  • Forge strategic partnerships and provide support to key stakeholders in hospitals and private practices

  • Conduct highly scientific, customer- and patient-focused discussions

  • Deliver internal and/or external specialist presentations as required

  • Engage in continuous development in science, sales, and systems

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Franchise Leads, field colleagues, brand teams, and patient safety

  • Share market insights to help drive marketing, sales, and medical excellence

  • Mentor colleagues as appropriate

  • Complete monthly reports, including competitive analysis and intelligence

  • Perform segmentation and targeting activities

  • Plan, manage, and take responsibility for budgets

Your profile

Education:

  • Completed pharmaceutical representative exam

  • Scientific degree (MSc equivalent), preferably in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or veterinary medicine

Expertise/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and Austrian healthcare system

  • In-depth experience in the hospital market

  • Proven track record in sales, negotiation, and key account management

  • Advanced product and therapy area expertise

  • Excellent planning, management, and presentation skills

  • Comfortable with CRM systems and MS Office

  • Strong analytical and strategic capabilities

Special Requirements:

  • Good English (spoken and written)
