Senior Facilities Specialist, Electrical & Mechanical

Accountabilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in utilities/production equipment, control/automation systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical components to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Perform or assist in the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC equipment. Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with Facilities / Project engineers to ensure integrated system functionality.
  • Support installation and commission new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and suggest process enhancements to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Upgrade existing systems with new electrical components and technology enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications.
  • Ensure all work adheres to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMP standards, OSHA standards, and National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and engineering, to support manufacturing objectives.
  • Offer training and mentorship to junior technicians and production staff on equipment operation and maintenance guidelines.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related field or relevant experience.
  • Must possess a valid electrician certification/license.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and solving issues, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA systems and HMI interfaces, and a strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
