What You’ll Do

The Associate Director, Immuno-Oncology will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing marketing strategies across our IOportfolio. Serving as execution tumor lead, this position involves leading cross-functional teams, developing market strategies, and fostering robust relations with key stakeholders to support the successful promotion and growth of AstraZeneca's IOportfolio. This role will have responsibility for all marketing execution for a an approved tumor, including both in-line and launch indications. 

This position will report into the head of Marketing and is primarily based at our Gaithersburg, MD campus, headquarters for the Oncology Business Unit. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive HCP marketing strategies, aimed at increasing the adoption and understanding of AstraZeneca’s treatments.

  • Lead the creation and management of HCP campaigns, ensuring they are data-driven and meet strategic business objectives.

  • Partner with internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Sales, Insights & Analytics, Market Access, and Training, to ensure alignment and effectiveness of marketing strategies.

  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, and adoption of new partnerships and technologies

  • Identify opportunity for recognizing efficiencies and alignments with other indications

  • Manage and optimize the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Work closely with sales and sales effectiveness teams to ensure execution pull through

  • Ensure all marketing practices are compliant with AstraZeneca’s standards and industry regulations, while integrating innovative approaches.

Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.Advanced degree (MBA or higher) is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, with a focus on oncology. Prior experience in GI cancer is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead complex projects and cross-functional teams, strong analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.

  • Proven experience in leading without authority, critical thinking, and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing and omnichannel strategies is advantageous.

  • High emotional intelligence with a collaborative, inclusive approach that drives team success

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $180,875.20 - $271,312.80. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
