About The role
You be accountable for the analysis and testing of new learning technology releases into the organisation. You will manage the functional testing activities and scripts as well as ensuring that validation requirements are met. You will be working closely with business representatives so good collaboration and facilitation skills are required.
The Learning Technology Release Specialist (Test Engineer)will be accountable for:
- Plan and manage delivery of functional testing activities for system testing
- Creation of test related validation documentation to maintain the systems validation status post release.
- Work closely with functional analysts to determine test requirements for releases
- Create, review, approve and manage all test plans and scenarios for IT test activity
- Manage the creation / maintenance of test scripts and ensure traceability to the user requirements
- Execution of test plan, monitoring progress and taking all necessary actions and escalations where appropriate
- Manage any defects raised during testing through to resolution
- Working with the IT team to secure test resource based on the required testing activity
- Analyse and report metrics on testing outcomes
- Establish, own and drive testing activities from start to finish for assigned projects
- Create and manage a test plan for each test event.
- Define SIT entry/exit criteria and contribute to the on-going development of testing process and KPIs
- Source and manage the appropriate resources (people, tools, equipment) to successfully deliver high quality test events
- Lead and manage quality focused SIT test execution events, in alignment with SIT entry/exit criteria, timeline, budgetary and resourcing constraint
- Collaborate and support business owners of User Acceptance requirements to be completed and signed off
- In addition to the activities related specifically to a release the role holder will also:
- Support the Change Request process for Cornerstone SBX and ensure co-ordination and successful delivery of CRs
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with our HR function and other organizations utilising the learning management technology
- Evaluate, recommend, and drives forward improvements to processes and ways of working to achieve standardisation and efficiency.
- Ensure all teams follow release management process and escalate non-conformity
- Maintain quality checks on releases and record those that directly or indirectly cause support Incidents
- Coordinate releases to ensure that the integrity of all environments is protected and that the correct components are released according to a documented implementation plan
- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, and work hours.
- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project
- Providing administrative support as needed
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience of working with validated systems
- Previous experience of managing testing activity including test planning and test execution processes
- Excellent analytical and questioning skills to support effective and creative problem solving
- Previous experience of working with validated solutions
- Strong detail orientation, ability to prioritise, re-schedule or adapt to changes
- Highly developed communications, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Proven customer-oriented focus and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes
- A strong collaborator with demonstrated ability to work independently and virtually as well as working effectively in a team environment
- Experience of managing stakeholder expectations, including strong prioritisation of competing business needs and pushing back when required
- High standard of written and spoken English
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of working with Learning Management technologies e.g. Cornerstone SBX
- In depth experience of performing Business Analysis working with global process owners or key business stakeholders in translating business requirements into solutions.
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language
- Vendor/supplier management
- Knowledge of how the different functional areas of AZ operate with respect to learning
- Experience of delivering Projects using standard IT methodologies
- Degree qualification and certifications are desirable but not essential
