DevOps Test Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
AstraZeneca is currently looking for a DevOps Test Engineer to join our R&D IT: Clinical Data Standards Product Team to help support, manage and maintain our Clinical Data Standards products along with it’s numerous integration products. You will be a part of our BizDevOps team therefore will be responsible to work cross functionally with other team members such as Product Lead, DevOps Lead and Release manager & other technical engineers.
Overall Responsibility: Develops the Test approach and follow the testing setup / activities throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Show willingness to assume a T-shaped role, balancing primary testing responsibilities with hands-on .NET coding tasks as needed. Capacity to work effectively in both independent and team settings. Demonstrate proficiency in .NET development, with the ability to write, test, and maintain high-quality code. Work with the application and technical architecture teams to plan one or more of the following: component, product, performance, and user acceptance tests. Able to review the development process to be familiar with an effective defect tracking (identification, fixing, re-testing and migration of defects) is properly addressed. Willing to learn how to participate in application tests in a multi-test environment. Ensure all testing results are easily accessible and understandable, plus meet entry and exit criteria. Able to monitor progress during each test to ensure that the application is tested, confirmed, piloted on time. Follow the testing standards, guidelines, and testing methodology as specified in the testing approach. Participate in quality management reviews to ensure adherence to all quality management standards. Participate on the traceability of systems requirements. Troubleshoot application issues by referring to the application logs and by a dry run of the application code. Also, be able to spot and provide a fix through application code changes as necessary. Build, Deploy and release fixes by following the standard SDLC and ITIL process. Be able to work on application enhancements and application upgrades when necessary. Provide resolution for user reported issues within defined timelines (as per the internal SLA/OLA standards). Proactive monitoring of the ticketing queues and other support channels to quickly acknowledge and respond to user reported issues within the established SLAs. Be able to liaise with other internal teams/vendors (third-party suppliers) as applicable for addressing application issues and any project needs. Follow good documentation practices such as creating KBAs (Knowledge Base Articles) and publishing those KBAs for quicker and easier access to better address issues and tickets. Constantly thrive to learn and upskill according to the organization’s goals and demands.
Essential Skills/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Data Management, Information Technology or Biostatistics or equivalent experience. Minimum 2-4 years experience. Basic/Medium working with JIRA, Confluence, and Automated Testing tools. Experience working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and/or SAFe. Engineering mindset to help design and implement a Clinical Data Solutions adhering to Products on the Platform delivery model. Experience working with diverse stakeholders and global teams. Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. Confidently communicate using interpersonal skills to attend urgent or critical situations.
Nice to have skills:
Knowledge of using and creating build tools and CI/GitHub Actions Basic/Medium experience programming in .NET. Be familiar with Azure Cloud.
