Key Account Manager - Respiratory & Immunology

Introduction to role

As a Key Account Manager at AstraZeneca, you will be responsible for managing individual portfolio with strategic importance. You will generate clinical demand for promoted brand, identify business opportunities, present value propositions aligned with stakeholder needs, and recommend solutions to drive and develop business. Your long-term goal is to build strategic and mutually beneficial relationships within the accounts and other stakeholders, based on a deep scientific understanding of the issues, to deliver life-changing medicine to patients.

Accountabilities

- Identify and prioritize accounts with strategic value to AstraZeneca, such as hospitals, hospital departments, and supply pharmacies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze stakeholder needs and opportunities to improve the positioning of the promoted brand.

- Develop strategies for each account/stakeholder to meet targets, aligned with the brand strategy and regulatory environment.

- Support the development and implementation of promotional activities based on defined strategies for each account.

- Build and manage long-term external relationships with senior stakeholders within high-value accounts.

- Share stakeholder insights within AstraZeneca to strengthen relevant activities such as product development, marketing, and sales efforts.

- Engage influential stakeholders to collaboratively develop and implement key account strategies.

- Provide informational support and experience to various players in the healthcare environment.

- Utilize different communication approaches and channels as appropriate.

- Position AstraZeneca as a thought partner and value creator for key accounts using data flows and outcomes research.

- Act as an educational resource to internal colleagues by documenting and sharing account insights.

- Ensure implementation of business plans and drive sales performance while managing operational account budgets.

- Coordinate actions externally and internally via a detailed KAM account plan.

Essential Skills/Experience

- University education preferably in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or Veterinary Medicine

- Experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with a proven track record of successfully managing key accounts

- Proven track record of engaging and developing lasting relationships with key stakeholders in complex clinical environments

- Proven strategic thinking, judgment, persuasion, and negotiation skills

- Proven ability to develop and execute compelling account strategies

- Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long-term needs, resolve issues constructively

- Communication and presentation skills

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams

- Strong focus on effective decision-making and results

- Proficiency in English language

- MS Office proficiency

- Driving license

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Therapy area knowledge

-Knowledge of the market and customers over a wide territory/at national level

-Marketing knowledge

-Familiarity with CRM systems
