Accountabilities
As the Hematology Regional Liaison Director, you will lead a team of Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) who serve as the local medical voice for AstraZeneca. You will be responsible for delivering MSL field medical plans and evolving the field-based medical organization. This includes establishing standard operating procedures and guidelines. Your role involves developing high-performing MSLs through hiring, recruiting, and ongoing performance assessments. You will partner with the Franchise Head to implement regional field medical strategies, direct MSLs in customer engagement, support speaker programs, clinical trials, scientific exchanges, and collaborative research. Additionally, you will provide insights to inform GEO/account coverage and prioritization decisions.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in Oncology/Hematology
- 7+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry
- 2+ years direct/in-direct field leadership experience
- Ability to lead MSL activities in their assigned Disease/Therapeutic Areas
- Strong skills in coaching, leading, and management of people
- Ability to travel 30% + (Company Car provided)
Desirable Skills/Experience
- MBA in conjunction with advanced scientific degree
- 2+ years direct people management experience in a field leadership context
- 3-4 years of pharmaceutical Medical Science Liaison experience

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $253,278 to $303,933. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
