As the Finance Director, Gross-to-Net (GTN), you will oversee the GTN Finance Center of Excellence. The deductions from the gross sales through net sales are the largest expense on the US P&L. You will provide guidance and insight to ensure there is consistency and compliance across both the BioPharmaceutical and Oncology Business Units. You will liaise across US Finance, Government Affairs, and US Market Access. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure to a range of business customers and strategic initiatives impacting the U.S. Marketing Company.

Accountabilities/Duties

  • Ensure GTN liabilities are accurate and appropriate by liaising with Finance personnel across Therapeutic Areas to ensure consistency and understanding of methodologies.

  • Liaise with US Market Access to understand any issues with payers and changes to contracting to ensure the impact to the Market Access liability is considered across US Finance.

  • Ensure the accuracy of monthly closings and forecast guidance for the areas which are centrally managed: Health Care Reform (HCR) Excise Fee, Coverage Gap/ Part D Manufacturer Liability, Distribution Service Agreements, and Returns.

  • Lead monthly reviews of the GTN close with the US CFO and the Sr. Finance Leadership Team.

  • Perform quarterly Market Access open balance reviews to ensure the market access liability is accurate.

  • Provide GTN training as required to US and Global colleagues.

  • Lead and inspire change to simplify data and models.

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements in this high-risk area.

  • Liaise with AZ SOX team and external auditors to ensure compliance with all SOX guidelines and requirements, as well as lead any GTN discussions regarding the audit.

  • Work closely with Global Financial Services team specific to functions supported by this role.

  • Provide guidance to Business Development for GTN with divested brands.

  • Perform ad-hoc reporting requirements and work on special projects as necessary.

Essential for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in finance/ accounting/ or relevant field and 7+ years of financial experience

  • Knowledge of US operating model

  • Excellent PC skills and experience including SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including oral and written

  • Confidence in working with Senior Management

  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasizes teamwork to meet deliverables

  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple and frequently changing priorities

  • Demonstrated capability to meet strict deadlines with a high level of ownership and strong sense of urgency

Desirable for the role

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience

  • Experience working across geographies, remote teams, 3rd party vendors

  • CPA

  • MBA
