Distribution Analyst
Accountabilities:
As a Distribution Analyst, you will be accountable for compliance with contractual obligations and key performance indicators for third-party vendors leading sample fulfillment operations. This role will involve:
Operations Management
- Coordinating operational aspects of sample fulfillment and distribution, including order fulfillment, program changes, and key performance indicators.
- Leading all operational aspects of New Product Launches, Product Integration, and Product Divestments Teams.
- Partnering with QA Distribution to ensure effective program operation within regulatory and legal requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional collaborators to develop, implement, and update AZ sample policies.
- Identifying and implementing continuous operational improvement opportunities.
- Anticipating, identifying, and resolving issues related to Sample Fulfillment and Distribution.
- Managing departmental SOPs and business rules as required by PDMA and cGMP guidelines.
- Leading the Vendor Change Review Committee to ensure compliance with current regulations and field sales user requirements.
- Represent North America Distribution on key Commercial IT projects and initiatives.
- Maintaining advanced knowledge of PDMA and AZ compliance requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, managing changes to SOX documentation, and coordinating periodic SOX testing/updates.
- Supporting communication between Sales, Commercial, and Third-Party Vendors.
Vendor Management
- Managing operational oversight of third-party vendors’ performance and relationships for Sample Fulfillment and Distribution services.
- Ensuring vendor compliance through coordination with AstraZeneca’s Americas Assurance and QA Distribution in audits of third-party sample vendors.
- Scrutinize adherence of third-party service providers’ performance to contractual requirements, Client Work Instructions business rules, and established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Developing, analyzing, and publishing performance metrics.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with key suppliers.
- Implementing operational program changes with vendors in line with newly developed AZ strategies.
- Lead reconciliation of third-party expenses.
- Ensuring consistent communication to field sales and HCPs regarding AstraZeneca sampling processes through third-party call centers.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Management Science or other relevant field OR relevant work experience in lieu of degree to include: - Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience in PDMA and/or Vendor Management.
- 3-5 years of experience in various aspects of pharmaceutical operations, supply and manufacturing, distribution and logistics or commercial operations
- Experience in Distribution & Logistics within a highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of dynamics within internal/external customer bases.
- Possess knowledge of customer ordering and inventory practices and fulfillment processes
- Proficiency in basic computer skills required including hands-on knowledge of MS Word, Excel.
-Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical manufacture and distribution
- Competency of the processes and systems that reside across the supply chain
- Possess strong analytical skills and overall business insight
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication, organizational negotiation, and strategic planning and influencing skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels within functional areas, and suppliers
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve desired business results
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of SAP, PowerBI or Enterprise Quality Vault/Veeva
- Previous experience with sample distribution
- Experience managing a small team or other supervisory role
- Vendor/3rd party management experience
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain principles: GMP, GDP, Regulatory and quality systems.
- PDMA knowledge
- Understanding of cold chain distribution
- Familiarity and understanding of the Change Control process
- Experience collaborating with Commercial IT functions
