AstraZeneca is seeking a dynamic Associate Director to join the Data Management & Operations team within Strategic Field Operations (SFO). This individual will be responsible for aligning our data management capabilities to the business strategy while reinforcing the value of data as a competitive asset critical to enabling Commercial decision making. This person will be accountable to represent the Data Management function supporting all Therapeutic Areas within AstraZeneca’s Biopharmaceutical Business Unit (BBU)The individual will lead multiple cross-functional business, operations, technology, and vendor relationships having a core responsibility for Specialty Care data operations (not limited to), Data access, use, and effectiveness; data quality and process efficiency; budget and procurement; and overall data governance across the US Commercial functions.

This person must bring a foundation of data management & business acumen related to CommercialData Management.  The candidate’s thorough understanding and application of Specialty Care distribution data (Specialty Distributor (SD) & Specialty Pharmacy (SP)), data aggregation, and other key data sets (including allIQVIA data offerings not limited to) will drive the continued development of SFO that maximizes the value of the expanding BBU portfolioIn exchange for a fast-paced environment, this role affords significant professional development and cross functional exposure.  

What you’ll do

  • Bring a solid foundation of data management and business knowledge related to Pharmaceutical Sales & Marketing.
  • Provide direction to a matrixed team including our primary support vendor and external & internal data providersonbusiness priorities, timelines, and requirements
  • Manage business stakeholder relationships and provide timely updates and status.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, interpretation, integration, aggregation, and visualization of different data sources across AZ platform(s) driving data quality, data accessibility, and key business capabilities.
  • Act as subject matter expert for Commercial data including specialty data in support of stakeholder projects and SFO internal processes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a relevant field
  • 6+ years pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, commercial data management, data analytics experience and/or related experience.
  • Experience working in a Data Management, Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and/or Analytics environment.
  • Experience across product life cycle (emerging, launch, in-line, mature)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience shaping, establishing and/or transforming Commercial Data Management capabilities.

  • Drive innovative solutions and automated dataflows and processes that deliver efficiencies across the commercial landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and improve data management processes, tools and techniques (for all key commercial datasets including digital)
  • Ability to lead and influence others in a matrixed organization to achieve desired results
  • Strong process-oriented experience, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills; consultative background preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities.
  • Ability, want, and purpose to transform and shape the future of commercial operations and the value we bring.
  • Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of variety of secondary data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health, etc.)
