Associate Director, Capability and Operations  (18 month secondment)

Job Description:

  • Clinical Data and Insights (CDI) drives the planning, execution and decision-making that enables trusted and reliable delivery of end-to-end standards, data for primary and secondary use, and visualizations and tools, which bring data to life

  • Capability and Operations (C&O) are a key part of CDI and ensure key business processes Leadership Team Support, People and Programmes, Contractor Services, Financial Planning and Analysis, Communications and Capacity are provided and managed successfully

  • In addition, C&Ois responsible for overseeing and delivering strategic initiatives for CDI

  • This role will be responsible forthe provision of key metrics and reporting, this role will be the owner of the Business Operations Report. This role will also be involved in key strategic projects.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Works with Director/Senior Director C&O to support implementation of strategic goals for business processes, change management and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Leads key initiatives for CDI, including planning and implementation, with some direction from senior personnel within C&O. This is likely to include working with cross functional colleagues across Development Operations, TA aligned Biometrics and other R&D departments 

  • Leads specific focus area(s) within key C&O. This may include but is not limited to processes Leadership Team Support, People and Programmes, Contractor Services, Financial Planning and Analysis, Communications and Capacity

  • Serves as a delegate for Director/Senior Director C&O for specific tasks or activities, as necessary

  • Leads the process to provide accurate and timely metrics and reporting to ensure the Business Operations health of CDI.

  • Leads key strategic projects that is directly aligned with our CDI scorecard, this will include planning, implementation, stakeholder management, reporting and communications of project(s).

Requirements:

Essential

  • Degree(s) in business and/or sciences, or equivalent experience

  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare industry

  • Ability to understand business strategy and goals

  • Experience in working with senior managers

  • Ability to solve problems that involve multiple decision makers, and develop multiple options/recommendations 

  • Proven flexibility, teamwork and analytical skills

  • Good networking skills, ability to interact widely and effectively both within the company (on both an interdepartmental and interdisciplinary basis) and externally 

  • Ability to work independently, and remotely, from key customers and stakeholders 

  • Project management experience from drug and/or non-drug projects. 

  • Proven ability to work with multiple customers and on multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Ability to analyse and understand complex data using tools such as Excel; this includes using functions and creating graph visuals

  • Ability to generate dashboards and visualisation aids for accelerated decision making

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong relationships

  • Excellent collaboration required – needs the energy to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Data Management, Programming, Statistics or Information Practice

  • Experience in one of the following: recruitment or capacity management

  • Knowledge of Power BI
