Introduction to role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with a track record of scientific excellence in in-vivo pharmacology to join our Oncology Small Molecules team in Waltham, MA, USA. As a Senior Scientist, you will be leading from the bench delivering in vivo pharmacology data to support our oncology small molecules' portfolio, with a focus on drugs targeting solid tumor indications including Breast, Prostate, Lung, and Colorectal cancers.
Accountabilities
Use in vivo technical skills to support our oncology pipeline by:
Working hands-on in the lab developing and working with various in vivo models of cancer including subcutaneous and orthotopic xenograft models and Patient Derived Xenograft models.
Designing and performing in vivo pharmacology studies (tolerability, PKPD, and efficacy) and delivering comprehensive in vivo pharmacology data packages to support early and late-stage drug discovery programs.
Profiling of tissue samples to explore mechanisms of drug response and resistance using both traditional and novel approaches.
Work collaboratively across fields to develop and implement work plans and timelines.
Show adaptability in working with IT programs and databases to record all study data for broad access by project teams and partners.
Essential Skills/Experience
BS with 7+ years’ experience, MS with 5+ years’ experience or PhD with 2+ years of experience in biology, pharmacology, or related field with a minimum of 2 years “hands-on” in vivo experience.
Practical in vivo experience and experimental skills in the use of mouse models.
Ability to work both independently as well as within project teams and across subject areas such as DMPK and translational medicine.
Exceptional communication, listening and organizational skills. Ability to analyze, organize and present data to a diverse audience.
Understanding of statistical methods and quality control of data.
Familiarity with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office, and in vivo data capturing systems such as Study Log.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Industry experience leading strategic and technical in vivo delivery to advance drug discovery/development.
Experience measuring biomarkers in blood and tissue samples using techniques such as IHC, Western blot, ELISA and MSD-based platforms.
Experience using small animal imaging modalities such as IVIS to monitor bioluminescence.
Demonstrated leadership including leading from the bench
