We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with diverse laboratory skills to join our collaborative team. This is a lab-based position, based in Waltham, Massachusetts within AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art laboratories. Accountabilities:
In this role, you will demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm for innovative scientific research leading to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. You will contribute to characterizing novel immunological pathways in health and disease to aid target identification, validation, and drug development. You will develop novel new assays for characterization of immune cells and interact and collaborate with highly accomplished scientists. Mentorship and support will be provided to help you gain relevant knowledge and skill sets and to promote your career development.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Bachelors degree in biology, immunology, or a relevant discipline with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Expertise in aseptic cell culture technique.
• Hands-on skills with basic immunological assays (e.g. multi-color flow cytometry, primary cell culture, functional cell based assays, ELISA, Western blot, MSD, Luminex).
• Experience with in vitro 3D models and/or primary human tissues is a huge plus.
• Experience with molecular biology is a plus (e.g lentiviral or retroviral transduction, stable cell line generation, qPCR…).
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team to conduct a high-level research project is essential.
• The ideal candidate is highly organized and self-motivated, with a drive to learn.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to critically analyze datasets are essential.
