Medical Science Liaison (m/f/d) – CVRM (West Austria)

We’re expanding our field presence with an additional MSL (CVRM). In this 80% field-based role, you will act as a scientific expert, driving scientific exchange with external experts, identifying and analyzing medical needs, and generating insights that advance therapeutic approaches. You will also support the cross-functional therapeutic area team to ensure optimal delivery across functions.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain peer level relationship with key external experts (80% of working time) to support understanding of the Austrian market & clinical dynamics and to engage with the medical / scientific community in a highly credible, balanced, and objective manner, representing AstraZeneca’s dedication to and excellence in science
- Identify local medical practices, trends, or knowledge and evidence gaps
- Work closely with the Medical Affairs Manager to plan and implement clinical activities
- Provide scientific support to investigators and sites participating in AstraZeneca clinical or non-interventional studies (NIS)
- Plan and conduct advisory boards, round tables, and regional medical training events (virtual and face-to-face)
- Prepare and deliver scientific presentations at external events, as well as medical training for new employees and regular ongoing education
- Regularly update your scientific and practical knowledge and participate in conferences and medical training events
- Respond to medical inquiries
- Collaborate closely with Regulatory, Market Access, Diagnostics, Marketing, and other functions
Your Profile:
- Completed degree in Medicine, Natural Sciences, or Pharmacy, ideally with a PhD
- Research experience valued; medical affairs experience a plus but not required
- Experience/research in cardiorenal/metabolic therapeutic area is a plus
- Ability to process scientific data for different target groups
- Excellent presentation skills (virtual as well as face-to-face)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent coordination skills and a high degree of independence
- Openness, curiosity, and willingness to learn
- Very good command of English
- High willingness to travel

- Base salary: €67,000/year (full-time basis; higher pay possible depending on qualifications)

Desirable Skills/Experience:
