What you'll do...
In this function you demonstrate scientific value by strategic partnering with in- and external partners, by understanding and anticipating their needs and by translating these proactively into actions. You support the strategic planning and delivery of all medical affairs initiatives in a specific brand to support the local objectives while staying in close touch with customers (40-50% field time). Next to that you help the cross-functional team who is active in the Therapeutic Area to ensure that they optimally contribute to their specific task.
You stimulate the team’s contribution to the clinical development and medical evidence generation & and build confidence for our products to inform clinical practice with a clear patient centric approach.
Main tasks
- Responsible (development and execution) for integrated medical affairs plan and associated budget
- Strong customer focus with min. 40 - 50% field time
- Proactively supply medical & clinical expertise and insights to the brand strategy, for the successful launch (= prelaunch activities) and life cycle management (LCM) of new & growth products
- Understand, anticipate, communicate and address data gaps and unmet needs of external partners
- Act as medical reviewer for activities and promotional materials in accordance with compliance guidelines
- Collaborate closely with BU, market access, regulatory, medical information, patient safety and clinical trials unit
- Ensure scientific and medical accuracy of outgoing materials, research papers and other reports, and may have sign off authority
- Generate product related insights by regular peer to peer visits (40-50% time in field) and provides those to relevant internal partners
- Organize and conducts medical education, scientific exchange and advisory board meetings
- Defines and delivers training on medical background of the product
Your Profile:
- MD, PhD, PharmD or comparable degree in natural sciences
- Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially as MSL or within Medical Affairs in one of the therapeutic areas mentioned above; experience within Clinical research will also be considered
- Thorough knowledge of the local regulatory and market access requirements related to medical affairs activities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Austria (Pharmacodex, Compliance)
