Introduction to role:
Diagnostic Liaison (DxL) is a field role where, you will be at the forefront of our diagnostic strategy, ensuring flawless sample flow between clinicians and labs to minimize treatment barriers due to mandatory biomarker testing. You will engage with laboratory experts, diagnostic partners, and professional associations in in-depth diagnostic and scientific discussions, delivering presentations in a non-promotional scientific context aligned with our local Diagnostic strategy and Oncology brand strategy.
Accountabilities:
Improve a strong local network by assisting collaborators like pathologists and geneticists in diagnostic processes and strategy implementation. Identify and segment Key External Experts for enhanced engagement. Support biomarker introduction by overcoming testing challenges, implementing national strategies, educating on economic and regulatory diagnostic aspects, and contributing to oncology important metrics. Engage credibly with the diagnostic community, stay updated on relevant biomarkers, support internal teams with content, and attend scientific congresses. Build capability by acting as an expert for external partners, addressing operational issues in oncology testing, and educating internal teams while sharing insights. Ensure compliance with training, regulations, and policies, understanding AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct and relevant standards, such as AstraZeneca’s Global Diagnostic Standard.
Crucial Skills/Experience:
- Master’s in Science related field (e.g. Biology, Microbiology, Molecular biology, Chemistry etc.)
- Proficiency in German and English
- Experience and/or sufficient knowledge with relevant lab techniques in Oncology diagnostics, e.g.IHC, PCR, NGS etc.
- Experience in a sales or support role in a diagnostic company is an advantage
- Experience with oncology biomarkers in the area of pathology or molecular biology
- Existing network in diagnostic labs (pathology or human genetics) of advantage
- Previous experience in a complex cross-functional working environment
