ABOUT THE MARKET ACCESS TEAM
Our Market Access team plays a crucial role in creating and expanding patient access to AstraZeneca medicines across therapeutic areas.
We’re connectors, bringing together the healthcare ecosystem through policy shaping, partnerships, stakeholder engagements, sharing of innovative value stories on our science-led medicines and co-creation of innovative payor solutions. What you will do
You will partner with cross-functional teams and external partners in preparing new medicine launches to ensure that AstraZeneca’s life-changing medicines reach as many patients as possible. You will be part of a dynamic that lays the groundwork for Pricing, Reimbursement and Patient Access.
Description
Responsible for the development and implementation of Pricing strategies for all products. Collects and analyses data to generate insights for Patient Access submissions that jointly create value for customers, patients, and AstraZeneca. Build relationships with key stakeholders and optimal access for AstraZeneca Products.
Typical Accountabilities
Delivery on Market Access
Implement market access and pricing strategies and develop operational plans in collaboration with business unit managers and other service functions.
Support customer negotiation strategies and stakeholder mapping.
Effective delivery of commercial input to market access process and team
Interpretation and the tailoring of available evidence to support market access for AZ brands in collaboration with the Medical Department.
Identify evidence gaps that may inhibit market access and develop plans to fill the gaps
Value creation through clinical and health economic outcomes research data
Value communication through the value proposition and value dossier to funders and/or decision makers to increase access and/or reimbursement
Ability to establish measurement system to track progress and drive effective corrective action when needed
Commercial Input to New Product Planning
Conducts market/ customer segmentation and identifies the emotional and rational drivers for each customer segment to develop value added and compelling solutions or offerings
Plan integrated cross functional timelines, balancing needs of quality and expediency across the business and build deliverability into launch plans
Cross Functional Project Management
Manages cross functional teams optimally to achieve the brand objectives
Identifies and manages key interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery according to agreed timelines
Effectively facilitates key meetings and issues
Influencing Stakeholders
Identifies key stakeholders both internal and external, and builds relationships with them
Effectively interprets all existing and new market research to gain a good understanding of stakeholder's needs
Maintained Administrative Systems
Report as required on strategy implementation and budget spend
Adhere to company policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years Market Access Manager experience.
Understanding of the South African Healthcare Landscape.
Teamwork and leadership skills, including the ability to collaborate with external and internal partners.
Strong pricing background for funder reimbursement purposes.
Experience in developing and implementing Innovative Payor Solutions
