The Operations Data Office has been set up to provide a broad set of Data Governance, Data Management, and Assurance services for the AstraZeneca Operations organization. The scope of the team covers core Operations data domains such as Finished Product Master, Direct Materials Master, Bill of Material, Recipes, Resources, Batch, Process Orders, and Equipment. We also work in partnership with Enterprise & multi-functional Data Offices on shared data domains such as Location, Quality, Clinical Supply, Finance, Supplier & Customer Master Data.
We have an ambitious plan to transform the data management service provision for our current scope, enabling process excellence & timely decision-making driving business value. To achieve this, we are looking for a Global Data Management Lead who is responsible for building and leading a large distributed team to provide data management activities for all Operations Plants for all data domains covered by the Operations Data Office. This role will be responsible to:
Accountabilities
- Establish a clear vision and strategy for the Data management function.
- Lead transition of disparate site teams to new centralized team
- Establish a strong, globally standardized delivery framework to achieve operational efficiencies, drive Data Quality and deliver business value
- Lead expansion of Data Management services into the Operations Data Office
- Define the operating model for Data Foundational technologies, such as MDG, cataloguing, DQ tooling, Master Data Management (MDM) & Reference Data Management (RDM)
- Partner with IT and business SME to rollout data products and build connected data ecosystem
- Lead Business Process and Information architecture capabilities
- Identify and drive Continuous Improvement projects across the organization
Essential Skills/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related field
• demonstrated ability with Data Management (Master Data, Reference Data, Transaction Data), Data Governance, and Data tooling and demonstrated knowledge of Business process architecture, Information architecture, data management, standards, and policies, applicable to the Pharma industry.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience of Business/ partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions.
• 8 – demonstrated ability in leading diverse global team, within and across functions.
• Demonstrated ability in architecting and building data platform and managing data management initiatives delivering to strict deadlines.
• At least 5 years of experience in demonstrating business acumen in pharma industry, and demonstrating excellent leadership skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience
• Experience of working in a global organization with complex/geographical context
• Experience in a Shared Service Centre
• DAMA certification or related certification
• Knowledge of Operations master data management systems, data structures and principles
• Experience of SAP S4 Hana
• High Proficiency in Power BI and Data science with AI/ML capabilities
• Project Management Skills
• Process improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma) expertise preferred.
