Senior Scientist, Multi-Omics and Analytical Innovation, Analytical Sciences

Introduction to role:

Are you ready to revolutionize drug development with cutting-edge analytical methodologies? As a Senior Scientist within the Analytical Sciences team, you'll spearhead the creation and implementation of advanced assays and platforms using new approach methodologies (NAMs) like multi-omics, high-content imaging, and next-generation sequencing. Collaborate with assay development, lab automation, and analytical data science teams to enhance drug characterization and validation. Your expertise will drive insights into drug safety, efficacy, and molecular characteristics, transforming innovative technologies into actionable solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, transform, and implement NAMs for characterizing T cell therapy drug substances and products, applying multi-omics, organ-on-a-chip systems, sophisticated in vitro assays, high-content imaging, and in silico computational modeling.

  • Design and implement rapid and robust cell-based assays using robotic systems to evaluate cell health, efficacy, and toxicity.

  • Establish and optimize multi-omics platforms (genomics, epigenomic, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) and collaborate with assay development scientists to characterize complex cellular processes.

  • Author and review method technical documentation, present findings to internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to regulatory submissions.

  • Lead projects and external partnerships, ensuring teams meet milestones and deadlines.

  • Stay current with the latest advancements in analytical technologies and NAMs and propose innovative approaches to improve our drug development pipeline.

  • Mentor junior scientists and give to the overall scientific strategy of the Analytical Sciences team.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • PhD in bioengineering, cell biology or bioinformatics related field (8+ years’ experience with a Master’s; 4+ years’ experience with a PhD)

  • Confirmed experience in the design and validation of innovative assay platforms and their applications.

  • Expertise in development using multiplex, multi-omics-based profiling data from cell-based assays.

  • Strong expertise in developing and applying multi-omics strategies and NAMs for T cell therapy.

  • Hands-on experience with high-content imaging technologies or high-throughput screening protocols.

  • Experience in bioinformatics and statistical tools for analyzing detailed multi-omics data.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present detailed scientific data clearly to cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work optimally in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment, adapting to evolving project needs and priorities.

  • Familiar with analytical assay ICH, FDA guidelines, and cGMP requirements.

  • Knowledge to apply Quality by Design (QbD) approaches to analytical method development, including gap and risk assessments, Design of Experiments (DOE), and statistical analysis.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $110,687 to $166,030. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
