Introduction to role

Are you ready to lead a team that shapes the future of procurement on a global scale? As the Senior Director of Global S2C Excellence Procurement, you'll develop and implement strategies for the Source to Contract (S2C) team within the AMS HUB. This role is pivotal in aligning with the Procurement Operating Model objectives, ensuring capacity, scalability, and capabilities are optimized. You'll act as a Centre of Excellence for the Americas region, driving standardization and sharing exemplary practices across GSCE Hubs. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering on the Service Catalogue, monitoring performance, and addressing risks and compliance challenges. With a focus on people management and partner collaboration, you'll contribute to building a world-class procurement capability at AstraZeneca!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Source to Contract activities in the AMS Hub.
  • Deliver objectives across teams within your area of responsibility.
  • Define and contribute to broader Procurement strategy development.
  • Collaborate with Line Managers to secure resources and ensure timely deliverables.
  • Ensure process and service delivery models are flexible and scalable.
  • Mitigate risks by raising issues to business partners when necessary.
  • Build reputation through key interactions with senior business partners.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices dissemination.
  • Foster a culture of leadership, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Oversee compliance with Safety, Health, Environment standards, AstraZeneca standards, and applicable laws.
  • Coach and develop talent for a healthy pipeline and succession planning.
  • Highly customer orientated, with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manage Source to Contract team performance through employee satisfaction and stakeholder feedback.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in Procurement.
  • Collaborate with Regional and local Procurement teams and other functions for seamless linkage across processes.
  • Manage metrics and reporting capabilities to convey team success.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s Degree (Business)
  • Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, ideally in an international company
  • Minimum of 3 years of line management experience of big teams or/and managers
  • Strong International partner management and relationship building skills within the matrix organization
  • Proven experience in delivering organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience in leading multinational, diverse, and dispersed teams
  • Experience in leading delivery teams in the SSC model
  • Excellent communications skills (English, Spanish verbal and written) with the ability to present information in a clear and concise format to all levels within the organization

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Excellent influencing skills in a global matrix organization
  • Positive relationship and business partnering skills
  • Ability to engage with partners at different levels in the organization
  • Project management skills and strong analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency & Procurement Technology (Coupa preferred)
  • Written and spoken proficiency in English and Spanish; additional language would be a benefit but not a must
  • Proven track record in managing multiple projects/tasks
  • Budgetary and resource management planning experience
  • Conceptual, analytical, and critical thinking
  • Ability to influence strategically and persuade considerately to acquire desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive organizational relationships

Other Role Requirements

Flexibility to travel and work in another AZ facilities outside the country when necessary.
