As a Precision Medicine Field Director (PMFD) you will provide inspirational leadership and prioritize to drive high performance through your regional Precision Medicine Manager team. As a role model, coach and a liaison you will inspire commitment, engender trust, demonstrate collaboration and create followership. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and highly influential change agent with strong leadership experience who demonstrates collaboration skills across multiple stakeholders to implement HQ strategies locally. 

This position will report directly into the Senior Director, Access & Precision Medicine, and will work in close partnership with cross-functional partners including HQ Tumor leads and cross-functional field leaders in order to drive the execution of our precision medicine strategies in the field.

This position is field-based, supporting the Oncology teams in the US South.

Insights & Account Planning

  • Synthesizes insights across the geography using the understanding of the precision medicine priorities of AZ, key accounts, and the geography at large
  • Works with PMM team and cross-functional partners to drive insights and conduct opportunity assessment across patient journey within geography
  • Ties together understanding of the environment outside the delivery of care (e.g. local advocacy groups, local gov't affairs, in-geography events) to the insights of the needs of the geography
  • Defines the priorities for precision medicine within key accounts and geography, aggregating PMM input at the individual account and HCP level
  • Define important metrics within each account plan, monitor progress, and adjust plan to reflect changes required to maintain or accelerate growth
  • As part of business planning process, identifies precision medicine resource needs
  • Prioritizes across key accounts and geography and provides input to cross-functional partners to help inform their planning as appropriate

Management

  • Provides regular coaching/management to direct report Precision Medicine Managers (PMMs) based on direct and indirect observation of customer engagement
  • Supports cross-functional interaction, as well as cross-alliance partnership where relevant
  • Provides guidance and business context to HQ Precision Medicine Tumor Leads
  • Embraces, coaches and role models an ethical, diverse and inclusive mindset while recruiting, hiring, and developing a high performing team with a culture of inclusion

Internal Interactions

  • Leads efforts within Region to recruit, hire, and develop a diverse and inclusive Precision Medicine Manager Team
  • Accountable for engagement of the full team and establishment of a positive culture in line with AZ values, ethical standards and compliance expectations
  • Partners closely with Precision Medicine HQ team to provide field insight and input into strategic and tactical plans

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 years of total business experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Strong people management and leadership experience
  • Proven experience with team development
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to engage, motivate and lead cross-functional teams, strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Life Science, MBA, Medical, or Pharmacy
  • Previous experience in Precision Medicine
  • Experience working in US Oncology Pharma industry  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry
