About the Role

AstraZeneca is seeking an accomplished Procurement Manager for our CE Cluster (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary). This is a strategic role with responsibility for driving purchasing efficiency, ensuring high-quality products and services, and supporting company-wide financial goals. You will be fully responsible for the procurement activities for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and at the same time, coordinate procurement across the CE cluster, play an integral role in shaping procurement strategy, and guarantee budget compliance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full Ownership: Responsible for the purchase of goods and services (indirect procurement categories) within the assigned region, and for procurement coordination across the CE Cluster.
  • Strategic Input: Actively develop procurement activities within the CE cluster in accordance with the regional and global AZ strategy.
  • Cost Management: Prepare an annual Master Planner per category using AZ templates. Track categories regularly and deliver targeted KPIs with a focus on annual savings.
  • Supplier Relations: Evaluate, negotiate, renegotiate, and renew supplier contracts; maintain up-to-date supplier records and prepare/update the Preferred Suppliers List per market.
  • Market Research: Monitor competitive landscape and conduct ongoing market research.
  • Process & Governance: Implement and update CEE-BA Procurement SOPs and related forms. Report savings in the AZ savings tracker tool and support contract management per AZ processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Procurement Specialist in the CE cluster, CEE-BA Distribution & Procurement Lead, Regional Category Managers, Global Procurement Teams, and internal stakeholders. Liaise proactively with Purchasing Support teams throughout the cluster. Actively engage with relevant stakeholders within individual marketing companies to ensure implementation of required changes and adherence to approved processes.
  • Training & Communication: Lead procurement training for business stakeholders, including the onboarding training of the newcomers, and ensure clear and regular communication regarding procurement news and initiatives.
  • Reporting: Prepare quarterly procurement overviews for cluster leadership and participate in monthly dashboard and global procurement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • University degree preferred in economics
  • At least 3 years of purchasing experience
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Project management familiarity
  • Fluent in the Czech and English languages (oral and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP, Coupa is an advantage.
  • Results-oriented with initiative to identify and present new opportunities
  • Excellent organizational skills; proven multi-tasker
  • Team player with analytical mindset and proactive communication style
