As the Director of Supply Chain, you will direct the Supply Chain team responsible for developing and maintaining the monthly supply plan for site assets within our global end-to-end supply chain. This pivotal role requires close collaboration with Operations Strategy and site process execution teams to ensure site capabilities are accurately understood and supply plans are both well-developed and executable.

As the Director of Supply Chain, you will:

  • Lead and inspire the Supply Chain team to achieve operational excellence in planning processes and deliver on all key objectives

  • Contribute to the site strategy, objectives, and performance as a member of the site leadership team.

  • Oversee warehousing and logistics, including multi-shift operations

  • Champion continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive problem-solving

  • Balance long-term supply and demand plans in partnership with Operations Strategy

  • Represent the site in standardized S&OP processes, managing demand-supply exceptions and escalating critical issues

  • Make agile, effective decisions even in ambiguous situations

  • Rapidly develop solutions for unplanned supply or demand challenges

  • Ensure stable material supply and maximize inventory efficiency

  • Drive strategic alignment, oversee tactical transactions for all site materials, and realize cost savings through smart sourcing

  • Collaborate on site budget preparation and lead process improvements

  • Support Quality and other teams to maintain supplier compliance and ensure material standards

  • Safeguard the integrity of master data for site assets

  • Mentor direct reports and drive their professional development

  • Ensure excellence in compliance with cGMP, FDA, SEC, DOT, and OSHA regulations

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related discipline.

  • 8+ years professional work experience in Supply Chain and Logistics within a minimum 5 years in a cGMP environment.

  • 8+ years of leadership experience.

  • Advanced supply chain (capacity and inventory) planning skills.

  • Experience in managing and developing solutions for supply chain events.

  • Understanding of various supply methods.

  • Understanding of supply chain planning parameters, master data and master data integrity and quality.

  • Experience in collaboration with the key interfaces within the end-to-end supply chain, with manufacturing and between supply chain and commercial functions.

  • Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical production supply chain principles, GMP, FDA.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience preferred with experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience leading a global team or leading a site preferred.

  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification.

  • Knowledge of AZ global supply chain operations organization and strategy.

  • Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in participating in the S&OP process.

  • Commercial experience is a plus.

  • SAP, ERP (MRP) knowledge.
