Technical Product Manager (m/f/d)

As a Product Manager, you will join our Product Management team and will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our computer vision algorithms, AI models and technical innovation (including next generation technologies such as foundation models and agentic solutions, generative AI, and deep survival learning).

You will be responsible for defining the strategy and roadmap with a focus on Computational Pathology (CP) Automation and Data Management & Data Science Tools. This role requires a deep understanding of Computational Pathology needs, market trends, and business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in our group, including (but not limited to) Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, Clinical Biomarker Solutions, Pathology, Biomarker Development teams, and Oncology Data Science Platforms (ODSP), to ensure the successful development and release of our tools and technical innovation that meet business objectives.

The position is initially limited to one year.

What you’ll do

  • Engage with users and stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancing imaging workflows and to assess gaps in the existing infrastructure, paving the way for effective solutions.

  • Owns software stacks ranging from image processing and visualization, data analysis, pipeline automation and data management.

  • Work across functions to define ML process and landscape (e.g. training patches, models, metrics, segmentation and classification results) to contribute to the wider drug development programs.

  • Develop and own the tools product roadmap to ensure value delivery and communicate progress to computational pathology leadership team.

  • Establish and maintain communication channels with users to understand needs and collect feedback.

  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional stakeholder groups with varying expectations to define and prioritize requirements to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Support the engineering team to optimize user value and building of product strategies for our AI solutions through understanding and documenting end-to-end user workflows and journeys.

  • Represent the team as a product owner in product increment planning within a scaled agile framework.

  • Establish a holistic view of workflow processes and be the transistor between different functional groups to ensure consistent communication and alignment.

  • Create and present engaging presentations for senior management and various audiences in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to communicate updates and future plans to stakeholders regularly

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, bioinformatics or natural sciences

  • Proven experience in product management or a related role within the imaging or data management domain

  • 3+ years experience in the bioimaging background with knowledge of major types of digital pathology imaging (brightfield, immunofluorescence, multiplex whole slide imaging)

Desirable for the role:

  • Knowledge in cancer biology / oncology

  • Knowledge of drug development (processes)

  • Product development experience

  • Knowledge of business analytics 

  • Knowledge in deep learning-based image analysis

  • Understanding of development tools like docker, gitlab, orchestration systems (e.g. Kubeflow), programming language (preferably Python)

  • Understanding of image annotation tools or workflows

  • Familiarity with image analysis methodology for detection, segmentation, and classification

  • Knowledge of CDx development processes

  • Experience with GxP or related regulatory processes
