Position Summary:

The Sr. Specialist, Business Information and Intelligence supports publication-related activities across Oncology R&D by providing training and engagement of internal and external partners, planning and managing Scientific Publication projects and activities pertaining to publication management system (iEnvision), and budgets. This position works under general supervision to manage and prioritize workload to ensure results are completed on time and meet quality goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and leads training and engagement on the publication management system and publication-related policies and SOPs to internal and external partners, including vendors.
  • Serves as an administrator for and maintains publication management system and SharePoint site(s); participates in upgrades and revisions of the publication management system and related tools.
  • Collaborate on harmonization of processes and procedures across publication groups
  • Develops standard and customized publication-related reports and contributes to the interpretation and translation of publication tracking and metrics into dashboards, presentation-ready tables, and figures.
  • Leads and/or participates in the preparation of procedural documents, templates, checklists, and other training materials for publications.
  • Manages the company-wide internal publication review and approval process (PSO) to ensure compliance in the publication management system.
  • Promotes compliance with established corporate policies and SOPs as well as external guidelines.
  • Identifies new process improvements within the function.
  • Identifies and provides solutions to issues or risks related to owned projects.
  • Mentors staff and serves as a resource for new employees.
  • Performs additional tasks and projects, as necessary or as assigned.

Requirements Section

Education

  • Requires bachelor’s degree or higher (science/health/communications field preferred) or equivalent work experience. 

General Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry/communications experience.
  •  Ability to work collaboratively, to manage/prioritize multiple projects from conception to completion, working in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated flexibility/agility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, management and organizational skills, conflict resolution, and team building skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) essential; working knowledge of databases and tracking tools essential.
  • Works under a minimal level of oversight of Associate Director.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of PowerBI is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the publication management system including administrative tools/function (preference for knowledge of Datavision/iEnvision) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of scientific/medical terminology, scientific publication process, and principles of Good Publication Practices/ICMJE guidelines preferred.
