Oncology Insights Internship

Join our Oncology team and be part of the bright minds shaping the future of patient outcomes through data-driven insights. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across functions and discover how insights and analytical thinking drive real-world strategy—including exposure to diverse analytical, commercial, and forecasting perspectives that influence business decisions at AstraZeneca.

Responsibilities:

  • Insight Generation & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Oncology Insights, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize critical insights impacting the patient journey. Collaborate with analytics and other partners to inform strategic choices.

  • Market Research & Analytical Support: Support the Oncology Insights Manager in designing and executing market research engagements, and contribute to translating findings into actionable recommendations for a variety of teams.

  • Project Management: Collaborate with external research partners and internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet objectives, deadlines, and quality standards.

  • Synthesizing & Communicating Outcomes: Partner with Insights and Analytics colleagues to distill complex information from multiple data sources, helping communicate outcomes, highlight opportunities, and explain risks to internal teams—including the broader analytical community.

    • Broader Analytics Exposure: Gain experience working alongside teams involved in advanced analytics and forecasting projects, helping you build a holistic understanding of the commercial impact of insights within the pharmaceutical environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate Degree or higher in Science and/or Business

    • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills; solutions-oriented and eager to learn

    • Curious, self-motivated, and able to absorb complex therapeutic area knowledge quickly

    • Effective communicator, comfortable presenting ideas and supporting discussions with diverse groups

    • Organized, able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

    • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint

    What you’ll Learn:

    • How insights, analytics, and forecasting come together to inform strategy and drive business decisions

    • Experience interpreting data, supporting market research, and delivering clear recommendations

    • Opportunity to network, attend learning events (Town Halls, Science Matters, industry spotlights, engagement activities), and build a strong foundation for future roles in Insights, Analytics, Forecasting, or Commercial teams

    What to Expect:

    This 12-month paid contract hybrid-role is based in Mississauga, starting January 2026 with flexible onsite arrangement 3-days-a-week across the Mississauga and Toronto offices. This is a developmental opportunity designed to prepare you for future growth at AstraZeneca, working in partnership with a diverse range of colleagues and business areas.
