The Market Access & Government Affairs Department plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable patient access to medicines swiftly and without regional disparities. As a Patient Advocacy Manager, you will foster and develop relationships with Patient Associations aligned with AstraZeneca's strategic therapeutic areas. Accountabilities:

• Establish links and relationships with patient advocacy groups, identify emerging area partners, and build new relationships with organizations/alliances focused on improving patient access to healthcare and medicines.

• Serve as the primary contact for patient advocacy groups across Italy, coordinating and managing regular communications to ensure constructive partnerships.

• Develop and execute the annual External Patient Engagement and Advocacy plan, understanding both national and global priorities.

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Government Affairs and RAM Network to ensure patients' needs are considered by Government and Regions, and work with the Communication Manager to maximize communication opportunities.

• Identify, initiate, and oversee strategic patient advocacy programs related to disease awareness, education, diagnosis, and access to appropriate care.

• Align the cross-functional team (access, medical, marketing, business, innovation) by analyzing trends and anticipating business implications.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of patient care and the stakeholder ecosystem, promoting a patient-centric corporate culture focused on developing solutions "with patients."

• Manage all activities and account relationships in accordance with Company Values, Code of Conduct, Guidelines/Internal procedures, and Italian legislation.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Master degree in communication sciences, political sciences, humanistic is preferred

• Minimum of 4/5 years of related experience in Patient Advocacy within structured pharmaceutical companies

• Knowledge of the national political and health context

• Intuitive, socially intelligent, flexibility and creativity to excel in a rapidly changing environment

• Proficiency in Italian and English

• Exceptional sense of ethics

• Ability to work in a team

• Leadership skills and interpersonal skills

• Networking skills

• Project management

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Postgraduate studies in health economics, public health

• Experience in analysing and monitoring health policies

• Experience in building and developing win-win partnerships with patient associations
