As a Junior Business Insights & Analytics Advisor, reporting to the Business Insight & Analytics Head within AstraZeneca Oncology Business Unit, you will act as the reference point for the cross-functional team within the therapeutic area, managing all activities related to business insights and analytics. Your mission will be to critically interpret data and transform it into strategic business recommendations that drive decision-making, fostering a data-driven culture.
This role requires a great understanding of customer insights and advanced business analytics. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all strategic initiatives are guided by robust data analysis and interpretation, enabling AstraZeneca to anticipate market trends and meet evolving business needs.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a JuniorBusiness Insights & Analytics Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Customer insights management:
    • Serve as the primary point of reference for all market research and customer insights activities within the therapeutic area, transforming complex data into strategic insights that will inform and guide business decisions
    • Collaborate with the cross-functional team as well as external vendors to design projects that address business needs, supporting both current and future portfolio, while keeping in mind the evolution of the healthcare context in which we operate through horizon scanning activities
  • Forecasts accuracy and performance monitoring:
    • Develop medium and long-term strategic forecasts for AZ Oncology marketed products and pipeline that incorporate disease epidemiology, evolving treatment paradigms, competitive products, pricing and access dynamics - collaborating closely with the cross-functional team and Finance Dept - ensuring that forecast models are informed by the latest data available
    • Lead performance monitoring to help internal stakeholders stay informed by providing strategic insights for the business
  • Strategic data generation, analysis and reporting:
    • Collect data and information related to AZ Oncology products and competitors to support business growth as well as transform data and insights into business recommendations, communicating them to various stakeholders at different levels
    • Develop expertise in the analysis and interpretation of diverse data sets, converting them into actionable reports, dashboards and tools, to enable effective decision-making across the organization
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, OBEX (Oncology Business Excellence) team and global/regional I&A teams to evaluate market opportunities thorough data assessment (e.g. competitive landscape, market potential, HCP insights etc) to advise and support strategic plans

You will manage all activities and relationships in accordance with company values, code of conduct, internal procedures, and Italian legislation.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering or other quantitative discipline
  • 2–3 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Business Insights or Market Analysis within the Healthcare/Life Sciences industry
  • Strong analytical mindset and business acumen with excellent logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong team spirit and curious mindset
  • Proficiency in Italian
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Domicile: Lombardy

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in Oncology
  • Ability to create dashboards through modern data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI)
