The Role: Junior Brand Manager - Inhalers

As Junior Brand Manager, Inhalers, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. We are entering an era of unprecedented potential to deliver scientific breakthroughs within asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and chronic cough. Our overall research ambition for the future is to transform the lives of these patients through our growing portfolio of inhaled combinations at the core of care, biologics for the unmet needs of specific patient populations, and scientific advancements in disease modification with the ambition of achieving remission or even cures for patients.

You will actively collaborate to manage all marketing activities for assigned inhaler products, contributing to company objectives and strengthening our leadership position in the Italian market. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Franchise, you will be involved in developing and implementing brand strategy and marketing plans for the inhaler portfolio, on the different targets (specialists and GPs), by maximizing the value of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) program, and analyzing the market segment, including identifying key growth drivers, opportunities, and risks.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy Definition & Implementation: Actively collaborate in defining the brand strategy and developing marketing plans for inhaler products, ensuring compliance with Italian legislation, AstraZeneca policies, and procedures.
  • Commercial Execution: Support the team in the Brand Plan execution, liaising with the Cross-Functional team and partnering with Sales and Commercial Operations to implement  all go-to-market activities and projects.
  • Promotional Material Development: Create promotional and training materials for the sales force to support effective sales efforts and educate sales representatives on company and competitor drugs.
  • Global/European Collaboration: Liaise and collaborate with Global and European marketing teams to highlight local needs and customer insights, share best practices, and ensure proper execution of the global strategy.
  • Market Analysis & Performance: Work with analysts to interpret market data, identify key segment drivers, growth opportunities, and business threats; monitor brand and competitive performance; contribute to budget development, and monitor expenses and KPIs for the brand.
  • KEE Engagement: Involve and interact with Key External Experts (KEEs) to organize and implement innovative projects and meetings based on patient centricity.
  • Corporate Image: Contribute to maintaining a high corporate image within the Scientific Community.
  • Compliance: Manage all activities and Account relationships according to Company Values, Code of Conduct, Guidelines/Internal procedures, and Italian legislation.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated professional with the following characteristics:

  • Education: Business or Scientific Degree.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare or biopharma industry, preferably in a marketing or similar commercial role.
  • Commercial Skills: Understanding of commercial strategy, methodologies, and tools (customer profiling and segmentation, market research techniques including patient journey mapping, competitive intelligence resources).
  • Proven analytical capabilities with experience in interpreting complex market data (e.g., sales trends, competitive performance, patient journeys) to identify insights, opportunities, and risks for brand strategy development.
  • Project Management: Good project management skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of omnichannel marketing channels and their application, with the ability to effectively collaborate with customer engagement teams to create a coherent and integrated customer strategy
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience engaging with and leveraging insights from external customers (e.g., KEEs, prescribers, patients, and payers).
  • Regulated Environment: Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Italian.
