Reporting to the Data Science& AI Head, the AI & Data Scientistwill work within the Innovation Unit and Business Excellence Department to promote and maintain a rigorous, objective data-driven attitude across cross-functional team.
In this role, the candidate will:
leverage technical expertise and analytical mindset to collaborate with cross-functional key partners, quantifying new opportunities and identifying emerging challenges in a dynamic and innovative environment
design and implement scalable AI solutions, driving the understanding of business phenomena by leveraging advanced AI solutions, including machine learning algorithms and deep learning models, as well as traditional statistical models, to generate actionable business insights and improve and simplify processes.
apply robust methodologies in data science to optimize processes, simplify workflows, and improve effectiveness across commercial and innovation functions.
extract knowledge from structured and unstructured data sources, applying robust statistical designs and AI-powered approaches, and developing scalable analytical solutions tailored to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector
explain sophisticated data patterns and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and support ad- hoc analyses as required
Deliver ad hoc analyses, define key business metrics, and maintain reusable models to ensure continuous business impact.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Activities:
Use scientific methods, artificial intelligence techniques, algorithms and processes to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data sources relevant to pharmaceutical and commercial initiatives
Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven machine learning and deep learning models to support business decisions, process optimization, and innovation
Apply statistical design and appropriate methodology to meet insight needs, including preparing, cleaning, and preprocessing data for AI-powered analytics
Translate quantitative analyses into clear, actionable outputs for diverse business units.
Conduct and share complex quantitative analyses in a clear, actionable manner across different business units, ensuring robust communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Define and report key business metrics and actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making and business development across various franchises
Maintain and update reusable, scalable AI-based analytical models for recurring analyses and evolving business use cases
Collaborates with different franchises to develop strategy and drives results
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
MS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science)
+3 years of relevant work experience in data science or advanced analytics or statistical modelling (additional experience is valued)
Deep understanding of AI, solid background in stats/ML and predictive modelling, including hands-on experience with data architecture and relational databases
Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R)
Strong analytic mindset, logical thinking capability, problem solving orientation, strong business acumen
Intellectually curious, data-oriented and communicative
Teamworking spirit
Fluent written and spoken English and Italian
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of Dataiku and modern data visualization (Qlik, PowerBIetc)
Familiar with agile methodology and cross-functional projects
Advanced training (Master's, specialized courses) in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields
