We are seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior MSLto join us our GI Oncologyteam! This role serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in their territory. The MSL is an established field-based professional with extensive scientific, clinical, and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development.
What you’ll do
Act as the local medical leader responsible for developing a tailored strategy to meet the AZ USMA priorities in the disease area, as well as the local specificities and patient needs.
Develop strong working relationships in different external business settings (e.g. academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices)
Lead scientific exchanges with oncologists and urologists and key members of the MDT.
Lead peer to peer scientific/medical interactions
Gather insights on the treatment landscape, evolving healthcare environment and practice, barrier to optimal treatment and patient care or opportunities to improve outcomes of patients with cancer
Discuss with KOLs, data and educational gaps to ensure adequate use of our medicines and to inform our R&D strategy to address patient needs
Stay current with scientific knowledge and attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.
Additional responsibilities involve aligning with internal standard processes and following regulatory and compliance requirements, while maintaining expertise in disease state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.

Essential Requirements
Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical discipline
Bilingual(Spanish)
2+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, scientific marketing, or clinical development
Knowledge of oncology customer segments and market dynamics in targeted geography
Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
Experience with clinical research
Demonstrated project management ability
Thorough knowledge of regulatory environment
Strong leadership capabilities
Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic)
Desirable Requirements
Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing or equivalent
Familiarity with the drug discovery and drug development process
Oncology experience (academia, pharmaceutical, or other)
Pharmaceutical industry experience in Gastro-Intestinal Cancers
