The sustainability Project manager will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that build, maintain and protect the company’s reputation in environmental sustainability, working cross-functionally to ready colleagues across business to meet sustainability requirements while contributing to accomplish local environmental regulation and SHE company requirements.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Valid bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry or engineering
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • High level of English; fluent C1.
  • Environmental regulation and certification knowledge/experience.

Desirable

  • Carbon footprint calculation and reporting methodologies as GHG protocol Knowledge
  • Understanding the role of decarbonizing healthcare systems
  • ESG reports experience
  • Valid qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (official master’s degree in 3 specialties), failing that taking it.

Role:

  • Implement and develops the local sustainability, environmental, health and safety strategy, driving the strategic delivery of AstraZeneca Zero Carbon Ambition, according to AZ global Goals.
  • Contribute to the evolution and delivery of an integrated AstraZeneca MC and AZ Global Hub sustainability strategy (access to healthcare, environment protection, ethics and transparency), ensuring employee engagement.
  • Collaborate to compliance with local regulation and global AstraZeneca policies making sure all SHE procedures are in place, monitored and reviewed. i.e. coordination of business activities.
  • Develop the environmental management system promoting waste management, circular economy campaigns, sustainable mobility plan and other sustainable practices. Contributing to maintain and obtain environmental certifications and recognitions (MITECO, EMAS, Etc.).
  • Develop & deliver brand and company plans, materials, campaigns and events that promote and project AstraZeneca’s zero carbon strategy and reputation in environmental sustainability to external partners.
  • Participate of Health Care decarbonization plans fostering sustainable practices all over the patient pathway and the product life cycle.
  • Collaborate to implement raising awareness and training campaigns to promote Safety, Health & Environment topics and sustainable management practices according to the plan.
  • Contribute to the whole ESG reporting, collecting, providing and integrating data.
  • Staying updated on emerging ESG/sustainability trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Contribute to environment protection and nature restoration initiatives implementation.
