MISSION

Develop the AZ Strategy of Pricing of all R&I products of AZ Spain in order to provide high quality health economic evidence & innovative pricing models to obtain/maintain national and regional access adequate to product objectives and customer’s needs.  Focus on new commercial models and pricing strategy of competitors, to enhance market access uptake. Engages with external stakeholders and internal customers on how innovative pricing approaches can be implemented to create win-win situations between patients, payers and AZ. Contribute to expand the knowledge to move from price to value, incorporating it in tenders and others innovative proposals.

R&I

Business Strategy

  • Contribute to develop the P&R Negotiation at National Level
  • Lead & develop the Therapeutical Position Report (TPR) process in coordination with the cross-functional teams
  • Identify and develop opportunities/risk evaluations of clinical and health-care outcome constructs, and delivering mitigation plans that support markets implementing IVS Frameworks
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure consistent use of clinical and health-care outcomes across both IVS agreements and health-economics models and deliverables
  • Develop a brand-specific and/or disease area clinical and health-care outcome construct module, which in collaboration with Financial Analyst, IVS will be coordinated into a Global IVS Frameworks Module
  • Drive the required payer insights and research to ensure robust and validated P&R approaches.
  • Ensure efficient budget planning and secure resources to IVS Frameworks
  • Develop the mid/long-term plan and the Pricing strategies for the times/price assumptions of the internal financial exercises (RBU-1/RBU-2/MTP/LTP/Ph.Budget).
  • Leads the R&I Pricing & HEOR area focused on HTA assessment at national, regional and hospital level along with the cross-functional teams.
  • Lead & develop the HTA external partner advocacy plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Pricing regulation monitoring & impact: RPOs, RDL, LoE ...
  • Be updating to the competitive Intelligence on Pricing.
  • Contribute to develop the commercial offers initiatives/ policies milestones strategy that can met in an efficient and timely manner according to the plan and local Working Process/ SoP.
  • Anticipated needs, opportunities, and risks, and develop strategies accordantly with Business strategy and market situation.
  • Analyze and lead customer and competitive insights into strategy development.

Planning and Implementation

  • Develop HEOR & Innovative Pricing models & Execute Pricing & HEOR strategies in the R&I Area.
  • Develop health economic models, user interfaces and support materials for use in submissions to reimbursement bodies and by Access Field team with cost-sensitive NHS customers
  • Utilize data from a range of sources (eg clinical audit, databases) and, within cross functional teams, identify the requirement for, and contribute to the development of value messages
  • Support technical writing of cost-effectiveness/wider implications sections of submissions to reimbursement bodies
  • Develop support materials and provide training in use of health economic value messages for cross-functional and NHS Access Field team.
  • Maintain knowledge of Spain reimbursement decision making to identify opportunities and potential impact for our Brands
  • Develop understanding of what constitutes value to our NHS customers and create value messages in formats which are impactful, and which aid decision-making
  • Partnering with Global Health Economics, IVS & GPI teams to ensure the delivery of health economics projects (e.g. health economic models, detailed reviews, network meta-analyses, costing studies) meet the methodological requirements of HTAs agencies in Spain and according to the local timelines.
  • Take responsibility for the P&R or HTA dossier preparation and submission to Health authorities, understanding payers’ requirements and needs translating them in high quality health economic evidence, leveraging results from clinical trials, epidemiological studies, economic models.
  • Identify HEOR evidence requirements and gaps, Innovative Pricing Approaches necessary to generate data and RWE to support AZ products value demonstration, in coordination with the Evidence Generation Team.
  • Product Technical Reports, Economic models and HEOR evidence generation to support product listing at Regional & Hospital levels
  • Development of HE tools/models that can capture the real world and long term benefits to differentiate AZ products
  • Disseminate HEOR data and studies results aligned with Value & Access Strategy and Evidence Generation Team.
  • Be aligned with Access field teams, and works closely with national/ Regional tenders departments, leading AZ strategy with national framework agreements.
  • Support to the regions analysis where the company participates or could/should be participating in tendering activities
  • Lead strategy for develop/deliver Pricing & HEOR trainings for the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the cross-functional team to anticipate the evolution of the national/regional/ hospital environment and the impact.
  • Ensure AstraZeneca's reputation as a leader among all healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all activities related to the role and the unit comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and Code of Conduct).

Requirements

Mandatory

  • Training: Degree / Graduate.
  • Spanish: Native/Fluid and English: C1
  • Computing: Office advanced level.
  • Proven experience of a minimum of 6 years in the pharmaceutical industry sector.
  • Experience in a similar position within the knowledge of spanish healthcare environment, price & reimbursement processes and pharmacoeconomic models and HTA requirements

 Desirable

  • R&I therapy area experience
  • Specialized training in Health Sciences.
  • Master in Institutional Relations in the Healthcare Field or others in healthcare management or MBA.
  • Specific training in pricing and financing.
  • In-depth knowledge of the healthcare environment and main stakeholders at national and regional level.
  • Experience/direct responsibility in commercial roles.
