Responsibilities
1. MISSION
The Healthcare Innovation Team designs projects and initiatives to address unmet needs within the healthcare system and alleviate pain points in the patient journey to Transform Care. These often involve designing, testing and deploying solutions to optimize diagnosis processes, care pathways, or patient monitoring and chronic disease management.
The Healthcare Innovation Managers are the Healthcare Innovation team single point of contact for the strategy definition and design of the healthcare innovation transforming care programs that will become core elements of the Therapeutical Area (TA) strategic and tactical plans, aligned to overarching Transforming Care priorities.
A holistic view of the needs across therapeutic areas and market access, combined with a deep understanding of pathologies and patient journeys, is essential. This expertise allows the HCI Manager to effectively coordinate and oversee the projects under his/her scope. They ensure the creation of a plan for each program/solution and contribute to the prioritization process by analyzing the associated brand plan. Many of the designed programs will require the understanding of new technologies (such as AI) and will require a proactive scouting of the
healthcare ecosystem.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES

1. TA Business Partner
• Be an active part of the Brand Teams of the TA under scope.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the patient journey of the pathologies under the TA.
• Assess and prioritize patient journey pain points/challenges, alongside with the rest of the Brand Team. • Identify and follows-up all Transforming Care projects being performed under his/her scope.
• Bring knowledge and expertise in building value-based projects, covering healthcare ecosystem needs from design and ensuring impact on health and across value chain.
• Provide deep understanding and expertise, ensuring that health information systems are properly embedded on health innovative solutions.
• Engage regularly with the field implementors, the “Healthcare Innovation Partners” to feed in leads on Transforming Care projects, under the “One Innovation team” philosophy and to monitor and supervise deployment.
2. Transforming Care Solutions Design
• Ideate and designs Innovative Solutions that address prioritized pain points in the patient journey or healthcare system
· Proactive scouting and relationship with the healthcare and tech ecosystem (startups, tech giants, entrepreneurs and HCOs working on transforming the healthcare system)
• Elaborate program cases that show the return planned for the designed Innovative Solutions (in terms of value added to patients, healthcare system and healthcare professionals)
• Coordinate the Brand Team on the prioritization process of Innovative Solutions.
• Assess and supports the Brand Team on the prioritization process of initiatives to be included in the Tactical Plans.
3. Innovation Strategy & Partnerships
• Provide TA teams with continuous assessment and support to build next generation health innovative solutions integrating patient, health professional and business needs on every step of the process.
• Serve as SPOC of the therapeutical area with the innovation partners and start-ups during the ideation and design process of Innovative Solutions.
• Attend to Innovation events and the Scientific Summits related to the TA to scout potential solutions and trends, representing AZ innovation values and strategy.
4. Piloting and coordination of project delivery and follow-up
• Be responsible for the implementation of transformational projects under his/her TA, assuring time and budget compliance
• Ensure consistent quality and maximum value delivery and no duplication of efforts
• Measure project performance feeding projects’ key indicators for follow up and evaluation of results
• Provide periodic executive reports to Project Sponsors, identifying potential project blocks and red flags
• Participate in AZ project follow-up sessions to present key achievements
• Provide Project Management methodology to ensure pilot optimization
5. Compliance
· Guarantee that all activities related to the job comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and code of conduct).
3. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Excellent level of spoken and written English (level C1).
•At least 6 years of experience in consulting, market research, business intelligence, insights, or a similar
role.
• Experience in managing strategic projects. It is not a mandatory requirement to have experience in the biomedical or health industry.
• Excellent collaboration capacity with internal and external ecosystems.
• Understanding of Digital Technologies: IoT, Big Data, AI, Blockchain, etc.
• Teamwork capabilities and skills.
• Project management skills
• Proficiency with GPT models and Microsoft Office is essential
Desirable
• Postgraduate studies (MBA, Master Innovation/Transformation, Master Public Health, Master Health information systems, Master Design Thinking or other related fields)
• Experience in designing or implementing Innovative Solutions for the HC system
• Experience in the implementation of healthcare information system-based platforms and projects.
• Experience of Data Analysis enabling tool kits
• Experience in working in multi-skilled, multi-location data teams, working to agile principles.
• Experience in life sciences and healthcare
• Experience in a complex global organization
• Deep knowledge of the health ecosystem innovation drivers
• Updated with the latest trends and best practices in business innovation
• Familiar with innovation methodologies: Agile, Service Design, UI/UX practices…
The requirements to opt for an internal position are to have been in their current position for 1 year, to keep their direct manager informed of their participation in the process, not to have established a current Improvement Plan.
