Job Description / Capsule
To help transform the company towards a holistic vision of the needs of the healthcare system and patients, including the
exploration and definition of the Patient Journey and a deep understanding of the impact of pathologies on the healthcare
system, thus being able to prioritize business actions aimed at improving performance indicators, activity, dynamism, and
competitiveness among others.
Reporting directly to the Business Excellence Business Partner Lead, this role will be responsible for leading the mindset
change in each of the different therapeutic areas to achieve rational decision-making based on data analytics.
Consequently, the BP will lead the forecasting process, generate insights, size opportunities and markets, as well as
implement a data-driven decision-making system and monitoring, which will help transform AZ's business model.
Typical Accountabilities
Business Performance Analysis & Monitoring
• Provide strategic support and advice to different functions such as BUs, Medical (including the diagnostic team), and Market Access to ensure business excellence. This role acts as a bridge between business and analytics and business excellence service to act as a Business Translator for the business.
• Promote transformation by identifying business needs and developing actionable plans based on the value of data in collaboration with the Business Excellence CoE and Data & Analytics.
• Provide conclusions and recommendations to diagnose the business situation and evolution. Convert information into actionable strategic insights and automated tools to advise the business.
• Design, develop and share key insights from different periodic reports of the business area of responsibility and company performance at a total and regional level, monitoring sales evolution, markets, competitors, share of voice, patient dynamics ... enabling appropriate and useful channels and platforms (Sharepoints, formats, KPIs ...).
• Deepen the analysis of execution data from field teams and recommend improvements to increase productivity and efficiency, working at the Hospital Area and Account level.
• Deeply understand the current competitive environment and be able to identify value propositions based on growth opportunities and new customer targets with marketing and commercial teams.
• Exercise cross-functional leadership to coordinate relationships with different stakeholders (TAs, Data & Analytics, CoE, ...) and have the ability to influence and ensure TA adoption of data-based decision-making and
interpretation.
Field Execution Excellence
• Provide support to the field network for excellent management of their activity, ensuring end-to-end process management: setting objectives, incentive plans, S&T, planning the omnichannel call plan, monitoring processes, and reporting results.
• Promote transformation by identifying innovative business needs (BTeam innovation proposals) and transfer them to CoE to develop action plans based on the value of data in collaboration with Data & Analytics.
• Transfer and support the strategic approach and the development of solid analytical skills to the teams for better commercial decision making.
• Collaborate with the Customer Engagement team in the design and preparation of omnichannel campaign monitoring reports, analyzing their impact on brand awareness, channel recall, brand image, as well as other
business evolution indicators (sales, market share...).
Ad-hoc advisory to business
• Design, according to the needs of business units, all kinds of "ad hoc" studies, follow the execution process of these studies, and translate the results into relevant conclusions for the business.
• Participate in the design and analysis of proposed studies executed by international teams, ensuring that they meet the needs of the Spanish team.
• Design and perform statistical analysis to infer future trends based on current situations, as well as correlation between different indicators.
• Design, implement, and monitor segmentation projects and business cases for decision-making.
• Energize and analyze the insights obtained in Competitive Intelligence forums.
Support for the Strategic Brand Planning process and active participation in the Core Brand Team
• Actively participate in the Brand Planning process, mainly in the strategic part.
• Lead the preparation of the Fact Book, Patient Experience Mapping, as well as in the Situation Analysis module.
• Moderate and energize Brand Plan sessions.
• Actively participate in Brand Teams by providing all the necessary information and knowledge, advising and challenging team members in areas of knowledge that they may require (Marketing, Access, Medical, RBDs, FLSM...).
• Actively participate in the Early Asset Strategy Team and Launch Readiness Team with the strategic focus that shared insights bring to advance in decisions that allow the BU to continue and prepare for different launches.
Financial processes
• Detect and select the necessary information sources for sales forecasting.
• Develop, together with marketing and finance teams, different forecasting processes of the company, developing different scenarios and executing sensitivity analyses. Specifically, lead the execution of patient models and the preparation of presentations that tell the story and justify the presented numbers, showing the assumptions made, the current environment, and its evolution. Also, be able to challenge the business based on the results of the analysis.
Compliance:
· Responsible for internal and external interactions of the team, regularly evaluating business/compliance risks to enable teams to operate accordingly.
· Ensure own and team’s compliance with AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct and company policies and procedures relating to people, finance, technology, security and Safety, Health and Environment.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics,
Engineering, Mathematics, Economics/Business
Administration/Market Research, Advertising, Health
Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, or other related fields.
· High level of Spanish and English proficiency:
B2/C1 or equivalent.
· Computer skills: Expert level in Office.
· Experience in using analytical visualization and reporting
platforms (PowerBI, MicroStrategy, or similar).
· Good analytical skills, as well as demonstrable abilities in
handling large volumes of data, relating information
from different sources, and the ability to draw
conclusions from the analysis of such information.
· Attention to detail, autonomy, and cross-functional
leadership.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills, technical skills to understand cross-functional dynamics, and drive influence in sales teams.
· Skills in strategy, analysis, and execution of business plans and strategic projects.
· At least 5 years of experience in Consulting / Market Research / Business Intelligence / Insights or similar positions (Experience in the Biomedical Industry is not a mandatory requirement)
Desirable
· Postgraduate or Master's degree in fields related to the role.
· Demonstrable experience in hospital products & Oncology.
· Demonstrable experience in cross-functional project and team leadership.
· Ability to work in highly demanding transformation ecosystems.
