Senior Director, Data and Information Marketplace
Senior Director, Data and Information Marketplace
We're building a connected, end-to-end Enterprise AI engine - uniting data foundations, AI technology, process reinvention, and business-facing AI to accelerate results across the whole value chain. Success depends on being exceptional connectors: you'll actively demonstrate existing capabilities, celebrate and promote reuse, export breakthrough ideas across geographies and functions, and obsess over scaling impact rather than building in isolation. If you thrive in high-collaboration environments where your role is to turn complex, multi-functional problems into reusable, enterprise-wide capabilities - and where the measure of success is adoption and scale, not just innovation - you'll have the platform (and sponsorship) to make it real.
Introduction to role
The Senior Director, Data and Information Marketplace provides strategic leadership for the capabilities, products and governance needed to help humans and intelligent agents discover, share, understand and use data and information quickly, easily and compliantly. This role shapes an integrated Data and Information Marketplace that improves the consumption experience across the enterprise, increases confidence in data and information assets, and ensures they are accessible, transparent, governed and valuable throughout their lifecycle. It ensures that data and information can be used with trust and efficiency, supports responsible and scalable reuse, and drives adoption of product-based capabilities and tooling that enhance enterprise productivity, compliance and decision-making.
Accountabilities
Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Data and Information Marketplace, defining priorities, outcomes, operating model and metrics aligned to enterprise data, AI and business strategy. Translate that strategy into a coherent portfolio of marketplace products and services that simplify how data and information are discovered, accessed and applied in practice. Own the product lifecycle for marketplace capabilities and tooling, ensuring an intuitive consumption experience for both humans and agents across discovery, access, sharing, understanding and use. Advise the development of capabilities for data access, lineage, observability and quality so that data assets are transparent, trusted and usable at scale. Shape the approach to data, information and knowledge lifecycle management, including governance of retention, stewardship, reuse, archival and disposal to maximise value while maintaining compliance. Establish enterprise approaches for unstructured information management that improve discoverability, control and responsible use of information assets beyond traditional structured domains. Embed robust governance and control frameworks across marketplace services, covering confidentiality, integrity and availability requirements and alignment with legal, privacy, security and risk standards. Drive financial transparency and optimisation for marketplace-related platforms and services, including FinOps practices that improve cost visibility, value realisation and balanced scaling. Influence senior stakeholders across business, data, digital, security and compliance functions to secure adoption, prioritisation and continuous improvement of marketplace capabilities and ways of working. Inspire teams to experiment with new technologies and methods that accelerate safe data use, while nurturing a culture of accountability, learning and collaboration. Ask bold questions about how data can transform science, operations and patient outcomes, then turn the answers into tangible products that deliver measurable impact.
