Introduction to role

Join AstraZeneca as a Controls and Instrument Technician (PCT) and play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing process control systems within our Utilities team. As a utilities department we supply the campus with all, Steam, compressed air, Water, Borehole water and manage our effluent discharge. You'll work proactively and reactively to ensure compliance and performance of Control and Instrument (C&I) UTILITIES assets, writing calibration procedures and collaborating with the multidisciplined Engineering and Technical team. Your expertise will drive continuous improvements and optimal system performance.

Accountabilities

-Maintain equipment in line with maintenance strategies.

Ensure timely response to breakdowns and maximize equipment availability.

Implement and support continuous improvement projects.

Train and mentor less experienced team members.

Drive personal and professional development in multifunctional skills.

Maintain and develop C&I systems across Utilities department.

Maintain and develop the calibration process and records.

Essential Skills/Experience

Knowledge of GXP & Safety, Health, and Environment compliance from a high- hazard, Pharma,  petrochemical or alike industry.

C&I building and process systems including PLC’s, BMS, HVAC, SCADA, HMI’s with a good understanding of electrical building services and mechanical systems.

Strong understanding of engineering principles.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proactive approach with a strong can-do attitude.

Creation and development of maintenance strategies

Desirable Skills/Experience

Experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical settings.

Familiarity with AstraZeneca systems (e.g., EUSAP, Coupa).

Project planning and management skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Please note, this role will align to SA91 Grade 10.
