Introduction to role:

The Associate Director, Business Performance, is a pivotal role in the deployment of Global Quality Strategy and the delivery of strategic goals. Working closely within the Global Quality Business Performance Team, you will contribute to defining, supporting, and facilitating the creation and delivery of strategy. As a key member of the high-performing Business Performance network with Regional/Functional Performance Leads, you will ensure alignment of approach and delivery to demonstrate the value of Global Quality to AZ Operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the Senior Director, Global Quality Business Performance in deploying and ensuring the successful realization of global strategies.

  • Operate as a key part of the Global Business Performance Network, sharing initiatives and ensuring alignment of global approach.

  • Develop productivity metrics for activities within a global framework to proactively target and measure the success of strategic projects.

  • Contribute to a structured global portfolio view for the OQLT – measuring the link from site to region to global of investments and benefits realisation.

  • Develop and facilitate the Global Critical KPIs to deliver Quality strategy including Scorecard, Tier, and others; using Lean Digital tools.

  • Support development of the Business Performance team strategy including driving and tracking objectives and key results.

  • Manage Global Quality Program Portfolio review, prioritisation, and reporting process.

  • Provide capability uplift to Quality teams in lean techniques, portfolio management, and measurement of productivity metrics.

  • Support the budgeting & reporting processes for Opex and Capex.

  • Proactively find opportunities to drive standardisation, simplification & improvement, increase efficiency, and deliver results while maintaining compliance.

  • Establish measures, process confirmation, and Genba programs to validate benefits are delivered as planned.

  • Represent function as part of the Global Lean Network.

  • Provide consultancy to 1st line managers/leadership teams in using the AstraZeneca Supply System in their area through training, on-the-job development, and specific improvement workshops.

  • Maintain target levels of Lean maturity across the Operations Quality system.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in pharmaceutical quality, manufacturing, or regulatory roles

  • Experience in multiple areas of Quality and Lean areas within the Bio-pharmaceutical environment

  • Proven cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines as needed

  • Proven strong understanding of LEAN capabilities

  • Experience in project, change, reason & budget management

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build excellent relationships with customers

  • Ability to influence senior collaborators, both within and outside the organization

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Post-graduate qualification (e.g., Qualified Person, MBA, Lean Black Belt)

  • Expertise in the application of analytical problem-solving methodology

  • Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice, current Good Manufacturing Practice, and regulations as defined by local regulatory bodies
