Introduction to role

The Private Market & Mature Brands Insights & Analytics Manager offers practical, data-informed insights to improve AstraZeneca’s oncology strategy, private market implementation, and mature brands' performance within a diverse stakeholder network. The role gathers and synthesises strategic and operational market intelligence; collaborating with the Business Insights team to support robust forecasting, customer segmentation, targeting, and finance business planning cycles. The manager identifies new commercial opportunities, monitors compliance with grey trade controls, informs launch excellence and promotional targeting, and provides the insights needed for effective budgeting, commercial decision-making, and the identification and mitigation of market risks within the UK private market and mature brands portfolios.

Key Accountabilities:

Insight Development & Analytics Leadership:

Lead advanced analytics and develop methodologies to unlock deep, actionable insights across private sector opportunities, including by tumour, drug type, indication, and commercial channel, as well as those specific to mature brands.

Forecasting, Sizing, and Performance Tracking:

Gather strategic and practical insights to inform robust market and brand forecast models for the private market and mature brands, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and relevance for commercial planning cycles. Work closely with the Business Insights team to integrate insights into financial planning models and forecasts, ensuring clear and verified assumptions for private market and established brands. Track portfolio performance, provide updates to leadership, and deliver concise forecasting summaries for strategic decision-making in established market and private brands.

Financial Planning Process:

Collaborate with Business Insights team on finance planning, validate assumptions, offer insights for reliable forecasting during business cycles.s partnership supports sound financial decision-making and gives confidence in market predictions across both business areas.

Governance, Compliance & Grey Trade Controls:

Drive compliance with contractual obligations and grey trade agreements through data monitoring and process automation; partner with supply chain, compounders, and finance to control and report on redistribution, parallel trade, and grey trade exposures.

Market Opportunity Identification:

Drive identification and validation of emerging market opportunities, informing launch excellence, omnichannel campaign development, and brand strategy.

Customer Segmentation & Targeting:

Develop detailed segmentation and targeting strategies for all private healthcare customer groups and mature brands, encompassing payers, providers, prescribers, and influencer segments.

Data Tools & Process Innovation:

Lead data projects to prototype and implement templates and dashboards, improving customer universe understanding, monitoring engagement, and optimising marketing and promotional resource allocation to support the private sector and mature brands.

Risk Assessment & Data Integrity:

Ensure ongoing data accuracy and integrity across all analytics workstreams, proactively addressing potential compliance, ethical, or business risks.

Essential Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Expertise in pharmaceutical analytics, customer segmentation, and developing actionable market insights.
  • Private healthcare sector experience in oncology with understanding of oncology market dynamics, business constructs, compliance and risk management;
  • Profound knowledge of AstraZeneca’s present and upcoming pipeline, competitive environment, e-prescribing systems, and the intricacies of the independent healthcare sector.
  • Prior insights or analytics role within the pharmaceutical industry including extensive experience managing complex databases supporting commercial or financial planning
  • Proven Experience in Advanced analytical and insight generation capability with working understanding of CRM/SFE tools, Power BI, e-prescribing systems, data reporting, and supply/commercial governance
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and establish effective relationships across complex, matrixed stakeholder environments
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and project management abilities, with a consistent track record in leading multiple, complex initiatives in parallel.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Relevant technical or business/scientific higher degree
  • Cross-Therapy Area (TA) knowledge; policy and regulatory expertise
  • Direct interaction with private payers, independent healthcare providers, and alliance partners
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI, Veeva CRM, and advanced analytics tools
