Responsibilities
Introduction to the role:
The S/4HANA Cleanse Lead for Finance is a key member of the Data and Analytics team supporting AstraZeneca’s ERP systems transformation project.
This leader will focus on data cleansing and preparation for legacy ERP data structures in Finance to support various deployments. This includes mapping following localization, coordinating with the data migration build team, and establishing data quality requirements per deployment for pre-migration data readiness. The role involves preparing data for migration readiness across operations and working with various members of the Finance/GBS Data Office and in-line/in-function resources who manage Finance data to drive cleanse activities.
The incumbent will lead cross-functionally across Finance and various Tech teams to define data readiness for each migration/deployment, ensuring effective handover of data readiness for migration using various stage gate and overall progress reporting.
Accountabilities:
Enterprise Data Accountabilities:
• Responsible for maintenance and update of various data cleansing playbooks and processes that will be leveraged across the programme.
• Contributing to the definition of the overall Enterprise Data Strategy and Standards in partnership with AstraZeneca business functions (namely Finance and the inline data offices).
• Accountable for developing and implementing a complex matrix of data profiling tools and standards to drive an efficient cleanse and harmonization process for the programme.
Delivery Related Accountabilities:
• Determining the correct data standards and timelines to fulfill data cleanse goals in preparation for migration to S/4, in partnership with various cross-functional stakeholders.
• Providing project-level data guidance, education, and design expertise for data profiling, cleanse, and harmonization.
• Providing guidance based on business requirements to determine different types of data structure types needed to operationalize processes in S/4HANA.
• Supporting the development of Data Integration architecture and overall Data Integration design.
• Approving various artifacts to ensure enforcement of standard enterprise data element names, abbreviations, characteristics, and domains during the lifecycle of a project.
• Approving many project deliverables to ensure compliance and reuse within Architectural Standards as defined by the Chief Data Architect.
Data Standards and Quality Management:
• Setting the strategy and leading the global implementation of cleanse and harmonization metrics and forums for S/4HANA.
• Directing the cross-functional development and ongoing continuous improvement of Data Profiling reports and analytics.
• Assisting in setting strategy and execution plans for Data Cleanse and Migration activities in support of migration from legacy SAP systems to new SAP S/4HANA solution.
• Assisting in the development of Data Quality strategy for the organization, securing its execution across functions to raise data quality.
• Identifying relevant stakeholders, establishing cross-functional priorities to direct Data Quality metrics for Cleansing and Harmonization, and overseeing continuous remediation across functional borders in S/4HANA.
• Stewarding Data Assets and guidelines.
• Influencing key senior stakeholders to maintain alignment with data quality and governance strategy.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent number of years of experience in a Computer Science or Data Management related field.
• Extensive experience and knowledge within domain.
• Able to influence and deliver strategic vision, direction, and planning.
• Possess a blend of data architecture, analysis, and engineering skills.
• Experience in known industry architectural patterns.
• Understands cloud-based containerization strategies for hybrid cloud environments.
• Understanding the appropriate data structure and technology based on business use case.
• Experience in the use of data modeling technologies.
• Experience in Agile data definition scrums.
• Experience in the use of metadata cataloguing tools.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
• Post-graduate degree in MIS, Data Management
• Extensive experience in a data architect role with practical examples of designing and providing data engineering blueprints that have been pragmatically implemented.
